Single storey villa with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with covered veranda, outdoor BBQ dining area, private pool and mature garden located in a quiet cul-de-sac in the prestigious Kamares Village development with views of the sea, within walking distance of tavernas and restaurants at Tala Village. Visitors may also use the Kamares Clubhouse with its restaurant, bar and pool. Paphos is 10 minutes away by car, the coast 15 minutes drive. Car hire is recommended and within easy driving distance are attractions such as ancient mosaics, Tombs of the Kings, monasteries, beaches at Coral Bay, wineries and mountain villages, the Akamas peninsula, golf at Tsada and Secret Valley. The villa also has satellite television with sport and film channels.

Changeover day
Changeover days normally Wednesdays and Sundays but are flexible. Departure time is 12 noon unless otherwise arranged beforehand.

Notes on accommodation
Main room and bedrooms open onto patio and have air conditioning, reversible when colder. There are some steps (about 6) from the driveway to the villa but otherwise everything is on one level.
Accessibility
Villa itself is all on one level, except two steps up to kitchen. There are short flights of steps from car park area to front door (four) and to pool area (see photo).
Outside
Private pool 8m x 4m cleaned weekly. Covered veranda and Pergola covering BBQ area with dining for 6. Sunbeds are umbrellas are provided. Colourful garden with bougainvillea, palm tree, plumbago, hibiscus, oleander etc. plus lemon, orange and clementine trees in season.
Coast/Beach
10-15 minutes drive to coast, with sandy beaches at Coral Bay and to west. North coast at Polis and Latchi about 40 minutes away with more beaches.
Golf
Minthis Hills (aka Tsada) at 10 minutes drive, mountain valley course around monastery with vines and orchards. Secret Valley at 30 minutes, at coast level with colourful planting. Joint tickets covering both courses are available. Elea at Yeroskipou is a new Faldo designed course and there is also the Aphrodite Hills resort course next to Secret Valley.
Travel
Paphos airport is some 20 minutes away, Larnaca about 90 minutes. Car hire is strongly recommended to make the most of the surrounding area.
Distances
Tala village is a 15 mins walk and features a good selection of bars and tavernas. St. Neophytos Monastery is a similar distance. Paphos town is a 10 mins drive, 15 mins to the harbour, 35 mins to Pissouri, 45 mins to Limassol. 30 mins takes you to mountain and Akamas peninsula villages.
Further details
Supermarkets, banking facilities and petrol stations are available in Chloraka village and the main Polis road as well as Paphos town, with mini-markets at Tala and Stephanie villages. The Kamares Club has newspapers, books and a mini-market and can also arrange car hire.

Cancellation refund of 50% for 4-8 weeks notice, 25% for 2-4 weeks notice, none for less than 2 weeks.

About the owner
I live in Torquay and use my Cyprus home for extended holidays. I worked for 25 years for Standard Chartered Bank in the Middle East, Africa and Asia before a short stint with the National Bank of Ras Al-Khaimah. I am a keen golfer and play in both places.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
I was working in Bahrain in 1984 and visited a property exhibition before making a trip to Cyprus. I felt Cyprus would always be on the way home (I then got sent to Africa!) and provided an excellent place to wind down. It still does.
A that time the road in from Tala was a dirt track and you could hear the bells of the goat herd in the morning. The coastal area was largely undeveloped, the wines were awful, there were no pubs showing football, no mobile phones, no golf courses, few supermarkets. So much has changed but you can still enjoy the old hospitality away from the main the tourist area, which provides an enormous range of bars and restaurants for those who want a livelier time.
Unique benefits of the property
The villa is situated within the Kamares development, still regarded as one of the premier residential areas in the area, as all the villas are individual and there are not the straight rows of identical homes you can find elsewhere. Tala village is about 20 minutes walk and has a good range of tavernas offering both local and international food. There is also a clubhouse with a mini-market, bar, restaurant and large pool. A car is needed to access Paphos and the coast, about 15 minutes drive.
Located in a cul-de-sac with a mature garden, the villa offers the opportunity for quiet relaxing by the pool when not exploring the surrounding area. An extensive guide to tavernas is provided which will give you a range of ideas to plan your excursions.
