Special interest holidays
Bonfire and fireworks at Easter. In 2012, the Greek Orthodox Easter is the week after Britain's Easter. They only coincide once every 4 years so it will be a great opportunity to experience two Easters: UK and Cyprus, or throw yourself into a traditional Cyprus Easter, beginning on Green Monday -- the equivalent to Shrove Tuesday but instead of pancakes, you fly kites -- and ending with Konia's street entertainment. Konia holds a street party at the Easter weekend with traditional dancing, food and drink and, after Mass on Easter Sunday, the village sets fire to a huge bonfire with an effigy of Judas Iscariot on top, followed by fireworks (very similar to Guy Fawkes Night only the weather is nicer!). From the villas' balconies, you will see fireworks streaming through the sky from all over Paphos and, as if by magic, appearing from behind the mountains. A truly magnificent scene. Weddings: discounts available on wedding flowers through an English company who are also based in Cyprus.
Travel
Paphos International Airport is about 15 minutes away by car and Larnaca International Airport is approximately a 90 minute drive. Although airport transfers can be arranged and the village offers shops, a bank, restaurants and a take-away, car hire is essential.
Distances
A taverna, a take-away, bank (with ATM), two shops and a coffee shop are within about 300 metres of the villas. A take-away offering free delivery is about a 10 min walk. A kiosk is within 400 metres. A large supermarket is within a 5 min drive. Kato Paphos is about 10 mins away by car, the harbour and old town, about 15 mins away. Within a thirty minute drive are Aphrodite's Rock, Tombs of the Kings, Adonis Baths and Waterfalls (great for swimming and diving off rocks).

Weather Great, food great, alcohol even better. Did nothing! Owner great, very helpful. Sorry to be leaving! BN Wales.
The villa was immaculate and the information file, labels and notices were an excellent idea. The Taverna in the village was really good. Your villa is situated in a very convenient area and we did a fair amount of sightseeing and also visited a few beaches. Thank you very much for helping us have a really enjoyable time and we would certainly recommend your villa to our friends and hopefully be able to visit again. S,M & L, Wales.
