Olive Tree is fully equipped to a high standard and is situated next door to Mountain View (CY1423). It is a 2 mins drive to the nearest supermarket and a 10 mins drive to the bigger supermarkets. 5 mins walk towards the sea takes you to a rocky cove and the nearest restaurant, the 'Sirin Yali' which specialises in fish and traditional mezes. The nearest beach for swimming is 5 mins drive along the main road where cafes have reasonably priced food. All local hotels allow day visitors to their beaches for a small charge. Club Simena, on the main road has beautiful trees and a wonderful pool, which is free providing you use the bar and meals service. A welcome pack is provided for drinks on arrival and breakfast for a few days and our friends who look after the villas will be able to answer any questions. Kyrenia (Girne to the locals), the capital of Northern Cyprus is a 30 mins drive. It has a beautiful harbour and all manner of shops banks, cafes, restaurants and historical sites.

Changeover day
Saturdays and Wednesdays are preferable but any day is considered depending on availability.

| Utility Room: | There is a large storage area under the stairs which houses mops, brushes, hoover, buckets, cool bags, halogen heaters etc. Extra garden furniture and Gas BBQ's stored in the garden shed. |
| Living Rooms: | In the lounge is a TV, DVD player, Digiturk satellite system CD / radio, pedestal fans and air conditioning. The sideboard holds a large selection of books, games, puzzels and childrens activities. |

Notes on accommodation
This large villa has extensive roof terraces with spectacular views of mountains and sea. The pool has a shallow end and hand rail for safe access. The garden is home to a 300 year old olive tree, rescued by the owners through the Olive Tree Project. Air conditioning in the master bedroom and lounge, cieling fans in all bedrooms, 2 portable pedestal fans, along with screened windows and doors all add to a comfortable stay.
Accessibility
Although the villa is suitable for children it should be noted that the stairs and steps from the house to the pool and garden are fairly steep so children under 5 years of age would need to be watched.
The downstairs marble floors also become very slippy if wet.
The downstairs bedroom may be suitable for people with limited mobility as there is a shower / toilet room adjoining it but there are 2 steps into the sunken lounge that they should be mindful of.
Outside
The villa has a large garden with young plants, shrubs and trees. The pool is maintained twice weekly and is furnished with sun loungers, umbrellas and ample patio furniture to make it very convenient for drinking, eating or barbequing. A gas barbeque with gas bottle along with a small BBQ and one set of coals are provided. There is a selection of inflatable toys / airbeds etc available.
Coast/Beach
5 mins walk towards the sea takes you to a rocky cove and the nearest restaurant. The nearest beach for swimming is 5 mins drive along the main road. There are a number of other beaches along the main road and information booklets on these are available in the villa.
Golf
There are 2 golf clubs in Northern Cyprus the CMC Golf Club in Guzelyurt and a newly opened golf club in Esentepe called Korineum Golf and Country Club. Both are less than an hours drive from Karsiyaka. This 72 par course is designed for golfers of all standards. The paspalm playing surface has well placed bunkers and water hazards.
Travel
Ercan is the nearest airport, about 50 mins drive to Karsiyaka and Transfers are free with a weeks car hire. Car hire is available, necessary for supermarket shopping and sight seeing. Cars are available the same day or the following. Flights to Larnaca in the South are more frequent &shorter but it is about 90 minutes drive to Karsiyaka and you have to cross the border. You cannot bring hire cars from the South to North however the car hire company can transfer for approx £105:00 return for 5.
Distances
Places to visit: Restaurant - The Abbey Bell Tower, Belapaise, fab food, shops, great views and free transport.
Kyrenia harbour & Castle. A great spot to people watch but beware the restraunt prices are inflated due to the location.
Markets - Kyrenia, Wednesdays and Guzelyurt, Saturdays.
Views - A wonderful view along the North coast from the mountain road calling at St Halarion Castle and Kozan Restaurant for refreshment.
Wildlife - Herds of donkeys and turtles on the Karpas Peninsular.
Further details
Paint balling – can be enjoyed at SunSet Beach in Lapta, plus other fun activities for you and your children. Membership options from 2 weeks to 6 months are available.
Water parks – most hotels allow non residents to access their pools if refreshments are purchased there. There are 2 water parks a small one one in Lapta, close by and one in Catalkoy.
The park in Catalkoy has slides, flumes and organised activities for children in the summer whilst the smaller park in Lapta is only 10 mins drive from the villas.
Boat Trips - An array of boat trips can be booked from the Harbour in Kyrenia.
Horse riding – try either the Catalkoy Riding Club or the services at the Kozan Restaurant where wonderful trails wind through the high mountain forests.
Cycle hire is also available at Kozan
Dog walking – At Kyrenia Animal Rescue Centre near Buffavento Castle in Arapkoy between 9am and 1pm.
Golf – The CMC Golf Club near Guzelyurt or the brand new and seriously flash Korineum Golf and Country Club in Esentepe. To entertain the children, archery in Catalkoy,
Cycling – you can hire bikes from many main hotels. Try Holication Travel in Karakum.
The 220km long Bespamark and Kyrenia mountain chain spans east to west. It begins at the Zafer Cape on the easternmost tip near to Kantara Castle and reaches Cape Korucam on the westernmost edge. Exceptional views, stunning craggy castles, hidden monasteries and churches, beautiful natural scenery and exciting hiking and biking challenges. Kyrenia Mountain Trail Association is a non-profit making organization of International individuals, local companies, the North Cyprus Tourism Ministry and various hotel associations. They joined forces to promote this unique natural attribute that is the crowning glory of North Cyprus.
The Association has mapped the entire trail and have accommodation options for hikers, bikers, back packers.
