Ilgaz is perfect for walking holidays as there are many stunning mountain walks that can be taken from the door of this property. The sea is 3km from the property and many restaurants around have pools.

Bedrooms: It has a double 4 poster bed with white muslin curtains around it. Air-conditioning unit above the bed and sliding doors along the side of the sleeping area.
Bathrooms: There is a bathroom with shower, wc and basin
Kitchen: The kitchen area has table and chairs, a gas hob, electric oven and toaster. Microwave can be provided on request.
Living Rooms: The sitting area has 2 armchairs and a stone fireplace for winter evenings. Sliding doors open onto fabulous views of the mountains to the sea. DVD player and radio/cd player provided.
Other: This newly-built open-plan property has an entire wall of sliding windows with fabulous views down the mountain to the sea. It has air conditioning. There is a small terrace outside with table and chairs.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Towels and 100% cotton bedlinen provided weekly. Property cleaned before guests arrive. Cleaning and fresh linen can be provided more often by arrangement.

Welcome pack provided. Owners are the Turkish Cypriot builder of the property and his English wife who live nearby and can provide assistance or advice - if needed.

Accessibility
There are a number of steps up to the property.

Outside
Small terrace with table and chairs overlooking views across the mountains and to the sea. BBQ can be provided if requested.

Coast/Beach
The coast is 3km down the mountain. There are numerous good beaches, some with restaurants or cafes and some offering water sports, snorkeling or diving. Boat trips can be taken along the coast.

Travel
Ercan in the North of Cyprus is the closest airport and is about 45 mins drive. Airlines include Turkish Airlines and Pegasus. Larnaca in the South is about 75 mins drive. Many airlines fly direct to Larnaca from UK including British Airways, Monarch, Cyprus Airlines. Taxis can collect from Larnaca and bring you across the border. Car hire is highly recommended. We can arrange with local car hire companies for you.

Distances
The property is on the edge of Ilgaz village 3km from the main road. Ilgaz is a quiet, residential village with olive groves around. Ilgaz is up the mountains from Alsancak and Karoaglanoglu and is about 40 mins walk across the mountain from the village of Karmi(Karaman). Kyrenia Harbour is about 20 mins drive, St Hilarion Castle and Bellapais Abbey about 30 mins.

Further details
There are many beautiful mountains walks around Ilgaz and can start straight from the door. Look for mushrooms in winter and orchids in spring. Other activities in the area include; horse riding, mountain biking, paragliding, diving, snorkeling, boat trips along the coast. There is a pub/restaurant in the village and 2km down the road is a restaurant set in award-winning gardens with a large pool and jacuzzi for customers' use. Many of the restaurants nearby have pools. Restaurants nearby cater for all tastes: Turkish Cypriot, English, Indian, Chinese and a number of excellent fish restaurants.

There are plenty of supermarkets nearby selling fresh produce such as fruit, vegetables and bread. many sell freshly prepared meals.

A 20% deposit is required to secure your booking with the balance of payment 8 weeks prior to arrival.

About the owner
I have lived in Ilgaz for the past 4 years and am married to Öztürk (Oz) who built the villa. I am English and Oz is Turkish Cypriot. Originally from Paphos, Oz fell in love with Ilgaz village in 1974 and achieved his dream of living here about 7 years ago. We have a pointer dog called Meg and her son Zibidi. Both are very friendly and gentle. They usually introduce themselves to guests before us. We love the peace and community spirit of the village and waking up every morning to spectacular views.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Oz built this property approximately 2 years ago. It has unbroken views to the sea and is situated at the lower end of the village.

Unique benefits of the property
The Annexe is a perfect place for birdwatching or watching the sun setting over the mountains from the bed or the armchair with windows along one length of the building. There are numerous walks that you can take straight from the door.
