A particularly attractive detached villa combining modern and local architecture. Set on rural fringes of a quiet Cypriot village overlooking the sea. Completed in 2004 and furnished in a modern European style. As you walk through the front door you immediately get a bright spacious feeling, with high ceilings, marble floors and double aspect views over the garden/pool and to the sea. As you walk up the turning staircase past the arched window with views of the hills this feeling is continued with all bedrooms having double aspect views and 2 of them having balconies. To the rear is a private, landscaped garden with generous pool and large sun bathing terrace. If you want to avoid the miday sun you can retire to the covered logia. Maroni village is about 30 mins from both Larnaca and Limassol, making it a great base to explore the Island from. This is a quite, traditional area away from tourist zones but still offers all day to day facilities and a great choice of tavernas.

Changeover day
The changeover day is flexible as is the arrival and departure time and we can confirm this at the time of booking.

The living/dining room here is larger than many you will see and enjoys triple aspect views with sliding doors to the logia. There are two 3 seater sofas around a large coffee table and an extendable 6 place dining table. Music system, TV, DVD player. |

All bedding, linen and bath towels are provided. You will need your own beach/pool towels. The property will be cleaned for your arrival and on departure. |
Notes on accommodation
Electric/gas heaters are available if needed. Ceiling fans are in all rooms. No smoking is allowed in the villa at any time. Please note that this is not in the tourist zone, it is in a quiet and traditional Cypriot village. As such we would suggest that a hire car is essential. However there are still good local supermarkets and fresh produce is available from the local farmers. Within 10 mins drive there are numerous tavernas to sample with the best fish meze on the Island available in Zygi (about 6 mins).

Outside
The gardens here are landscaped and irrigated and with the villa now 3 years old are maturing very well. (see photos). There is a driveway to one side leading to a car port, but parking on this quiet road is not a problem. Immediately outside of the kitchen and lounge is a covered logia which makes an excellent place to dine in the summer. This leads onto a very much larger sun terrace along side the swimming pool, which measures 8m x 4m. In turn this area is surrounded by lawns and well stocked flower beds with mature hedging providing seclusion. Sun beds, deck chairs and patio furniture are all provided. A large BBQ on wheels is also provided.
Coast/Beach
The coast is about 1 mile away and you will find several quiet local beaches within a few minuets drive. Governors beach is about 15 mins away on the Limassol road and is a well established and popular beach with several small bays of black sand backed by white cliffs. Tourist beaches can be found in Larnaca and Limassol and for the more adventurous there are great beaches at Ladies Mile (near Akrotiri), Curium Beach (near Episkopi) and you can even spot turtles on Lara Beach (beyond Paphos).
Golf
Cyprus is fast becoming a golfers paradise with many new courses currently under construction. Aphrodite's Hills and Secret Valley are the most established on the Island and are about 40 mins drive away.
Skiing
Most people are surprised to hear that you can snow ski in Cyprus. In the winter there is usually deep snow on the Troodos mountains (about 1 hours drive) and you can hire equipment for the day at Sun Valley.
Travel
Larnaca airport is about 30 mins drive from Maroni village and we have a good relationship with a car hire company that we can put you in touch with. Paphos airport is about 50 mins away.
Distances
Maroni village is about 1/2 mile away and has a good local shop, butchers, general store and bank. Further shops and many taverns/restaurants can be found within 10 mins drive.
Further details
There are many things to experience in Cyprus. This area has become very popular with cyclists and it is possible to hire both mountain and road bikes nearby. Walkers also have a great choice of routes on the island, ranging from coastal walks, forest walks, mountain routes etc we have provided some route books for our guests use. Golf, tennis, water skiing, kite surfing, diving, fishing, para gliding, jeep trips, carting, shooting, horse riding, or just chilling by the pool, there is something for everyone here.
Booking notes
A provisional booking can be made by email or phone and will require a 25% deposit to confirm. The remainder must be paid at least 8 weeks before the start of the holiday. A refundable breakages/damages deposit of £150 is also required and payable before arrival. This will be returned within 2 weeks of your departure, minus any deductions for breakages/damages. We can quote prices for stays not equating to one week.
