Villa Callistro is a luxury 3 bedroom detached villa with its own private pool and stunning sea views to the rear and mountain views to the front. The villa is furnished to a very high standard throughout. It is close to the traditional Cypriot village of Kouklia where you can sample excellent local food. Also close by is the Aprohodites Hills Golf Resort/Spa and the picturesque village of Pissouri. Located on the Secret Valley Golf Resort the club house is only a short drive from the villa. The nearest beach is 1.5km. The bustling town and harbour of Paphos is a 20 minute drive and there is a wide range of restaurants and bars to suite all tastes.

Notes on accommodation
The villa is air-conditioned throughout. This also provides heating during winter months. We have mobile internet access available via a pay as you go dongle.
Accessibility
The villa is not suitable for wheelchairs as there are no ramps or downstairs bedrooms. The pool is fitted with steps to aid access.
Outside
The villa has as 10m x 5m private pool with steps to the shallow end and a ladder in the deep end. The patio area has been fully extended all round the pool to allow sun-bathing on the 6 sun loungers wherever you want. An outside shower is provided. There is a covered patio area with a dining table and chairs for 6 people and outdoor crockery is provided. The villa is in a larger than average plot and has been fully landscaped and features a built in BBQ for guests use. At the end of the garden steps take you up to a further landscaped area overlooking the pool and gardens.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is a 5 minute drive from the villa at Aphrodites Rock this is excellent place to swim and watch the sunset. Pissouri Beach has excellent water sports and pebble beach and is a 15 min drive away. Coral Bay which is a large sweeping sandy beech is half an hour away just the other side of Paphos excellent for children.
Golf
There are 3 main golf courses nearby - Secret Valley Golf Course 3 minutes, Aphrodite Hills Golf Course 5 minutes and Tsada Golf Club, approx 20 minutes away.
Skiing
You can ski at the top of Mount Olympus between Jan-March each year.
Travel
A car is essential. The villa is 10 mins from Paphos International Airport. Paphos town/harbour/beaches 15/20 minutes. Nearest beach 5 mins- Aprhodites Rock. Pissouri Beach 15 minutes. Limassol 30 minutes. Larnaca 1 hour.
Distances
The nearest village is Kouklia at 3 minutes by car by and Mandria 8 minutes (local convenience store and petrol at Mandria).
Places of Interest - Paphos Mosaics, Tomb of the Kings, Kolossi Castle all within 30 minutes of villa. Further afield are the picturesque mountain villages of Platres and Omodos to name a few. The Akamas Peninsular and traditional fishing village of Latchi are an hour's drive away.
Supermarkets - Local Kouklia and Mandria, Paphos larger supermarkets and stores.
Further details
There are a variety of restaurants and tavernas in the area. The nearest is just a 2 min drive from Villa Callistro down the hill to the Secret Valley golf clubhouse. You do not have to be a member to use the facilities. Its stylish, is in a beautiful setting overlooking the lake and a very pleasant venue for lunch, mid morning coffee or an aperitif. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays the restaurant is also open in the evenings.
Kouklia 5 mins from Villa - number of tavernas in Kouklia the restaurants serve good quality Greek food and wine at very competitive prices.
Pissouri - large selection of restaurants in Pissouri Bay many specializing in locally caught fish dishes. A must try is a fish Meze. For a special meal the restaurant in the Columbia Beach Resort is well worth a visit. In the old town there are a range of Greek restaurants. The Bunch of Grapes is another lively restaurant with tables in attractive courtyard we have eaten there may times and would recommend it.
Paphos - 20 minute drive away or £15 taxi ride away. Here you will find a range of high class restaurants providing international food including, French, Italian, Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, Indian. Paphos has some excellent boutique clothes and shoe shops as well as Debenhams, Next, Marks and Spencers. There are also several larger supermarkets in Paphos some open on Sunday am.
Aphrodite Hills - 5 mins from the villa and has the 5 star Intercontinental Hotel which does a superb Sunday lunch buffet. Also on Aprhodite Hills are a number of restaurants including Zimi Pizza and Pasta, Platia Coffee Shop, Pithari Tavern for authentic Greek cuisine. Anoi Pub and Bar serving range of beers and wines and menu including steaks, fajitas, chicken wings etc. There is also an excellent convenience store serving fresh bread. For a pampering session visit the Retreat Spa at Aphrodites Hill.

We chose this villa because the decor was like my own house. Felt like home especially with the place-mats! The 5* touch was fantastic had to take pictures before we messed up the beds. The kids absolutely loved it especially the large pool, they had to go for a swim every day.

About the owner
We live in a small village in the Worcestershire countryside in England with our 2 pet dogs. We both work full-time and spend our Holidays in Cyprus. We have always loved the island and the fact that you can get away later in the year and still have glorious sunshine. Our villa is our second home and we spend as much time out there as we can and we intend spending most of the English winter and spring there when we retire.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We have always loved Cyprus and wanted a place out there of our own. When we retire we wanted somewhere where we can spend several months of the year. Secret Valley is ideally located in between Pissouri and Paphos and is close to bars and restaurants. We play golf and it is great to be within walking distance of a golf course and a further 3 courses just a short drive away.

The villa has been furnished as our second home and is therefore of a very high standard. You are welcome to use all any of the equipment we have left out there. We provide beach towels as well as all of the bed linen and towels so you can take more clothes with you. We also provide a welcome pack and a welcome meeting to get you acquainted with the area when you arrive.
