Coast/Beach
The local pebble/shingle beach is a 10 min walk away through olive groves. Alternatively you can drive down the track and park your car under the shade of trees which grow right up to the shoreline.
Travel
Car hire is recommended. Ryanair (Stansted), Jet2 (Manchester) & Thomson (Birmingham, Manchester, Gatwick, and Oslo) fly into Pula - 45 minutes transfer. Ryanair (Stansted, Birmingham, Brussels & Dusseldorf) fly into Trieste around 90 mins drive. It is also possible to fly to Ljubljana (Easyjet) or Venice (both 3 hours drive). There is also a fast ferry (2.5 hours) that links Venice with Porec. Calais is 950 miles (1500km) away - 16 hours driving time. Motorail service Dusseldorf to Trieste.
Distances
Porec centre is 5km to the south and Cervar-Porat marina 2km to the north. Further a field places of interest include 'Venetian' Rovinj, the Linmski Kanal and Pula with its impressive Roman amphitheatre. Picturesque hill towns of Groznjan & Motovun (which hosts an International Film Festival at the end of July) are 20km away. Day or overnight ferry trips to Venice are also popular as are boat trips along the coast. A visit to the Brijuni Islands from Fazana, 'Tito's Xanadu' is well worthwhile.
Further details
There are restaurants, cash-machines and supermarkets in nearby Spadici-Materada and Cervar-Porat (summer only) and a useful fresh vegetable stall on the outskirts of Cervar village. Larger shops, banks and numerous restaurants and bars are situated in Porec centre. At nearby Spadici-Materada, you can play tennis, take part in watersports or hire bicycles to explore the many cycle tracks in the area. With crystal clear waters and plentiful sea life the area is popular with divers. You will find there is provision for most holiday recreational activities in and around Porec.
Booking notes
The property has has an official rental authorisation from the local authorities. 20% deposit to confirm booking. 80% balance payable 6 weeks before arrival. Payments made by bank transfer to local agent. In addition a local tourist tax (£1 per adult per day June to September (or £0.60 January to May and October) is payable and is added to the rental fee at the time of booking. Children between 5 and 12 pay half the adult tourist tax rate.
