Notes on prices
Prices shown are for the property per week in euros. All payments to be made as bank transfers into Croatian account please as instructed on initial booking form. In the winter Tribunj is quiet and beautiful if you want solitude. As the apartment is heated it can be used and discounted prices by arrangement with the owner are available and will reflect the length of stay required although they also reflect the cost of heating!

Changeover day
Preferred changeover day is Sunday but this is flexible depending upon availability as is the time of arrival and departure.

Notes on accommodation
The balcony makes it unsuitable for very young children and the exterior staircase makes it unsuitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.

Accessibility
Unsuitable for wheelchairs and people with mobility difficulties as there is a staircase up to the property.

Outside
The "garden" is the beach and the seashore in front of the property with staircase leading down to an area of flat rock from which one can bathe. If you have a certificate of sea competency for motor/sailing boats, a boat can be separately hired out with the apartment.

Coast/Beach
Beach and swimming immediately in front of the house. Boat available for exploring the islands subject to proof of competency required by Croatian law.

Travel
Split airport 70km.
Zadar airport approx 40 mins.
A car is recommended but pickup from the airport and delivery back can be arranged for very reasonable cost if required.

Distances
Village centre 0.25km. Vodice town 3km. Sibenik - a world heritage centre is about 20 mins by car and the larger towns of Zadar and Split both offer much of great historic, architectural and shopping interest. The marina at Vodice hires out sailing and motor boats with or without skipper and there is plenty of opportunity for diving/snorkeling within the area.

Further details
The village has a bank with cash machine, post office, internet cafes and excellent tourist agency as well as a variety of bars and restaurants. During the main season there is a daily market in the square for fruit, vegetables and fish and there are two small supermarkets and other shops and art gallery. Vodice, a larger centre, has more nightlife and lies about 3km from Tribunj around the coast. The tourist agency will arrange tours, hire of cars, bikes and scooters and generally offer an all round service to visitors with excellent spoken English. A motor boat is available for hire with the apartment by the day, half day or the week. It is advisable to book this when you book the apartment and we can then provide further information.

Booking notes
A deposit will be required of £200 sterling to secure your booking. This deposit doubles as a returnable deposit agains damages and will be returned to you in full following your stay if no damage is sustained. The full rental is payable in euros six weeks before departure. Please email your booking request.

09.09.09 - 23.09.09 Bryan and Helen - What we really appreciated about Tribunj was the fact that, on the whole, (and ignoring the marina) it was still pretty well undeveloped. Really easy to find somewhere to eat out when we wanted and always easy access to the beach/sea for our lazy days. We made plenty of use of the balcony to relax in the sun and read too.

About the owner
I first fell in love with Croatia on a sailing holiday in 2004. The crystal clear waters of the Adriatic are undeniably welcoming as are the people. I returned the following year with the idea of finding a retreat to which I could escape when UK weather or general stress became too much to handle. I now like to share the experience with others and find that they too inevitably have a memorable and enjoyable stay. We also share the wonderful location of our house in the UK which we have had the good fortune to occupy for over 25 years and which lies beside the River Blackwater. A self contained annexe with it's own garden onto the river provides a perfect hideaway for two for either short stays or temporary accommodation for visiting relatives or between house sale and purchase.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
On walking into 19 Podvrh which looked nothing like it does today I had a heart stopping moment when the view was revealed through a torn curtain at a tiny front window. A year or two of not completely stress free negotiations with owner, lawyer, accountant, architect and builder finally provided the result you see now and I am eternally grateful to the little voice who first gave me the idea and then the courage and determination to win through! Many of the restaurants stay open all year round and are frequented by local people in the Winter months who are always welcoming and friendly.

Unique benefits of the property
I have tried to make 19 Podvrh a home from home with books, CDs and games as well as a comprehensively stocked kitchen. Many of the guests also contribute by sharing their own music or literature. My property is also lovely in the Winter months with its cosy underfloor heating. I particularly enjoy the changing weather views and magnificent sunsets from the balcony in all seasons. The village is busy and buzzing in the Summer season but quiet and serene in the months outside. All the centres of Zadar, Sibenik and Split are on hand for sightseeing and facilities not available in the smaller villages. The National Parks of Kornati and Krka are well worth a visit too. In 2010 we are adding a motor boat for hire by our guests per day, half day or week. Please ask.
