Set in the historic medieval hilltop town of Motovun, the 'Houselet' apartment forms the main part of a traditional stone house approximately 200 years old. Divided over 2 floors, the apartment is decorated to a high standard and is both stylish and comfortable, with whitewashed walls and original wooden floors and shutters. The apartment has terrific views especially from the 2nd floor secluded balcony. The apartment is in strolling distance of Motovun's restaurants, bars, shops and the piazza where afternoon coffee and evening drinks can be taken on the terrace overlooking the Mirna river valley. Motovun is a terrific 'get-away-from-it-all' place at any time of year whether you are picking wild asparagus in April, enjoying the local coastline or Motovun's Film Festival in the summer or hunting for truffles and wild mushrooms in the autumn. A 20 minute drive takes you to the warm waters of the Adriatic, whilst a 10 minute drive will take you to a local spa with a large outdoor pool.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday, although we will try to be flexible where posible.

Bed linen and towels are included and changed on a weekly basis. The apartment is cleaned once a week. |
Notes on accommodation
The property is on the 1st and 2nd floors with traditional stone/tiled steps leading up. Suitable for couples with a baby or (up to 3) older chidren. Young children (toddlers) would have to be supervised due to the the steps (for security and privacy there are doors at the top of each staircase).

Coast/Beach
Beautiful beaches can all be reached within and hour's drive of Motovun. The nearest is Porec (20 minutes by car) with clean beaches, watersports, a marina and harbourside restaurants.
Golf
There is a 9-hole driving range in the lower part of Motovun.
Travel
The cheapest way to travel is by Ryanair flights who operate flights to Pula - summer months only - (40 minute drive), Trieste (90 minute drive). A car is essential and can be hired with Hertz through the Ryanair website, a good alternative is Avis. Easyjet fly to Rijeka (1 1/2 hours drive). Easyjet and Ryanair fly to Venice (2 1/2 hour drive or a daily boat service to Porec). Easyjet, Thomsonfly and Croatian Airlines fly to Pula (40 minute drive).
Distances
Istarske Toplice (7km) health and beauty spa with large outdoor pool. Groznjan (12km) a tiny town of crooked lanes and leafy squares filled with galleries and craft shops. Porec (25km) Euphraian Basilica, beach, marina, watersports and daily excursion trips to Venice. Pula (70km) Roman Ampitheatre. Rovinj (35km) working fishing port with tiny cobbled streets, cafes, artisan shops and beautiful views over inlets.
Further details
There are many 'agroturizam' farms in the area selling and serving homegrown fruit, vegetables, dried ham, cheese, truffles, pasta and wine. A superb area for walking and cycling (bikes can be hired in Motovun), there is also a 9-hole driving range and horse riding locally. In Motovun there are two bars, a taverna and a restaurant, there is also a small general store/bakers, a post office and a bank ATM where you can get Croatian Kunas. In the lower part of town there is a small supermarket and butchers, a doctors' surgery, chemist and petrol station. A fresh fish van visits Motovun daily.

A non-returnable 25% deposit is required at the time of booking. The balance to be paid 2 months before departure. You should arrange your own cancellation insurance.
