Lovely Croatian harbourside house in landmark position. All rooms have fabulous sea views and you can wash your dishes whilst watching the little boats bobbing up and down in the harbour. Completely modernised, the house has most of the features you would expect in your own home, including a large kitchen with washing machine, dishwasher, full-size four-ring electric cooker and open-plan kitchen/diner with a large cedarwood table and chairs for 6 people. With two large bedrooms (king-sized beds) and a comfortable sofabed in the Terrace Sitting Room which opens up into two full-sized single beds (one pulls out from beneath the other) the house will sleep up to 6 people.

Notes on prices
£250 returnable security deposit. We can negotiate discounts for long winter lets. 10% discount for early booking. Price includes Croatian Tourist Tax which is compulsory for every visitor to Croatia and 10% Croatian VAT.

Changeover day
Preferred changeover day is Saturday. However, if there is availability the owners will be flexible. Arrival after 3 pm, departure before 10am. At end of season owners are flexible over price and start day of holiday.

Bedrooms: 2 large bedrooms with king-sized beds.
Sofabed (turns into 2 single beds) in terrace sitting room.
Bathrooms: Large refurbished bathroom with shower and deep shower tub for bathing children; Large washbasin, heated towel rail, WC and plentiful hot water.
Kitchen: Washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, full-size cooker, iron/ironing board, water heater for hand washing up; Plentiful china and kitchen equipment. Large cedarwood dining table and 6 chairs.
Living Rooms: Terrace Sitting Room with sofa, two large armchairs, coffee table, very comfortable sofabed, wardrobe, walk-in closet, Satellite TV (programmes in English, French, Italian and German).
Other: The bedrooms are simple but elegant; lovely framed IKEA posters enhance this atmosphere. Each have bedside cabinets, bedside lights on each. Wardrobe, cupboard and chairs are also in the rooms.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
All linen and bath towels are provided. These are changed once a week [guests should provide their own bathing towels].

 

Notes on accommodation
Harbour House is constructed of the same Brac stone from which the White House in Washington is built; In a landmark position on the harbour the house, though simply constructed, is spacious; It stays cool in the summer, especially when the shutters are closed and the air-conditioning is on.

Outside
The large terrace provides ample space for sunbathing, reading a book under the parasol at the large octagonal table, or cooking on the barbeque. If it gets too hot you can always retreat to the terrace sitting room and to enjoy the view or watch TV.

Coast/Beach
The Golden Horn is 1km from Bol and can be reached either on foot, by boat, or on the little road train that regularly trundles back and forth from Bol. Bol beach is 30 metres from the house; the secluded Monastery beach with its extremely good seafood restaurant (in a restored fisherman's house) is 5 minutes walk from the house along the coastal path.

Special interest holidays
The house is very close to one of the main water sports and diving centres in Bol. From here you can get information about most things, including diving, kayaking, water skiiing, jet skiing, banana boating at Zlatni Rat (the Golden Horn, Croatia's most famous beach which is just outside the village of Bol) or trips to the neighbouring islands. The lovely Monastery beach with its restaurant in an old fisherman's house, is 5 minutes walk away.

Travel
Brac Airport (6km from house). Cesna flights direct from Split Airport to Brac can be arranged; Split Airport, 45 km away including a 1 hour ferry trip from Supetar to Split Harbour, and a 20-25 min. trip to the Airport. Car hire is recommended though not essential as there are plenty of buses travelling around the island from Supetar.

Distances
No distances are great on Brac because the roads are excellent. The 45 minute trip from Supetar to Bol is the longest, because it is from one side of the island to the other.

Further details
You can find most things in Bol, including bars, restaurants, bakeries, post office, pharmacy, pizza bar, up-market harbourside Cocktail Bar where you can gaze out to sea and sip Gin Slings under a straw rotunda in the heat of the day; The Golden Horn beach, a peninsula of fine shale reaching out into the sea, is a very popular location. Here, you can retreat into the pine woods at lunchtime to sample the delicious barbequed meat and fish that are cooked over open fires.

Booking notes
Email the owner for availability: If available, a booking form and booking conditions will be e-mailed. Once signed, an invoice will be sent and, on payment of 30% of the total amount (if more than 50 days prior to the holiday) the booking will be confirmed. Full payment is due if booking is made less than 50 days from the commencement of the holiday. A £250 returnable security deposit is due when balance is paid.
