Notes on accommodation
We have made a Quicktime movie to let you get a better picture of the layout and the rest of the accommodation.
You can download this virtual tour from http://www.noc.soton.ac.uk/chess/villa_maria_small.mov
You will need Quicktime or iTunes to view this movie. Once loaded, you can move from room to room, up the stairs and outside (Click to change nodes when the cursor changes from a circle to an arrow). In each location you can drag through 360 degrees, zoom in and out with shift and ctrl keys.
The file is 3MB so will take a few seconds to download... please be patient. Also, this movie was shot a couple of years ago, so you won't see the bannisters, air-con and lanscaped garden.

Guest comments
'We had a wonderful holiday! The village and the house were our idea of bliss - It was so peaceful and beautiful and the neighbors were welcoming and friendly. It was lovely to return to the house at the end of the day, it really felt like home for the two weeks we were there. I must also mention it was completely spotless and for a clean freak like me that was a major plus! Istria was great to explore and you can really see a lot of it in two weeks if you want to. The food in Istria was delicious and very good value. There were swallows nesting in the garden when we were there - when we got there they were tiny and the day before we left they flew the nest for the first time! We miss Istria and the villa and would recommend it to anyone' Nic, England

Owner profile
Watching the sunset from Porec
About the owner
Married father of two young girls. Loves sport, nature travel, good food and drink, clear sea and mountains, and occasionally chilling out.
Year purchased: 2004
Why the owner chose a home in this location
Fell in love with everything Croatia on first visit in 2004, and bought the stone cottage as a familiar holiday retreat for me, Ria and Mia, with a view to covering our costs by renting out.
Unique benefits of the property
With the house only 30 minutes from Pula, and 90 mins from Trieste, we can enjoy long weekends at the cottage. The village is so peaceful, the only noises coming from the wildlife and the occasional passing tractor or herd of Istrian cattle. Wonderful place to chill out, read, relax, walk, eat and generally take it easy, yet only 5km from the bustle of Porec... yep, as long as you don't crave a sea view, it really is perfectly situated! Read our guest reviews or request comments from last year's guests.
