Outside
Large private pool (see photos) cleaned regularly and surrounded by rustic Italian furniture. Terrace/patio with space to eat outside around a large table.
Coast/Beach
20 - 30 mins drive to the coast.
Golf
2 Brand new Championship courses open in Spring 2009 , one at the Kempinki hotel and the other in Bujie.
In addition there is a 6 hole golf course with practise facilities 10 minutes drive away. 18 hole courses are further away.
Special interest holidays
We can arrange for a local chef to come and cook for you in the villa, or book reservations at his restaurant, local cuisine is outstanding. The region has a long truffle season. We can recommend reservations at a number of excellent indoor and outdoor restaurants. Terrific tennis club in Buzet plus huge supermarket.
Travel
We recommend flying to one of these airports and then hiring a car: Pula Airport (in Croatia) is 30 miles from our villas. Ryan Air flies there from Stansted. Monarch Airways have just launched a new service that flies between Pula and Gatwick on a Saturday. Trieste (in Italy) is 60 miles away. Ryan Air flies there daily in the summer from Stansted from £9.99 each way. Ljublijana (in Slovenia) is 80 miles away. Easy jet flies there daily in the summer from £35.
Distances
You are based on the edge of the tiny hilltop village of Sovinjak, 10 minute drive down the hill to Buzet for provisions. Restaurants range from a short walk to a long cycle (or a drive to explore further afield).
Further details
We are within a short drive of the annual hot air balloon festival, a film festival and a host of cultural events.

"Our stay at Casa Sienna was outstanding.The villa was stunning...the two real highlights were the private chef that we arranged to come to the villa, and our visit to Restaurant Toklarija in the village next to Sovinjak.My wife and I consider ourselves foodies, and one of the things we absolutely love is unpretentious, traditional food that uses fresh local ingredients and is prepared with love and soul.Both experiences were absolutely wonderful.The chef prepared a fantastic meal consisting of local ham, fresh truffles over homemade pasta, fresh homemade bread,local Istrian ox stewed in a clay pot with local vegetables, and olive oil chocolate cake.All of it was accompanied by wonderful homemade wines and freshly pressed olive oil.The food was amazing,but the experience of sitting out on the terrace in the evening made it even better."May 2011, Vincent, New York

Hi, my husband, Simon, and I live in London and own and manage the lettings of our three villas in Istria, Croatia. We like to stay in at least one of them two or three times a year, with our young daughter, families and friends. When we're not staying there, I manage the rental of each of the villas, whilst also looking after our toddler! I try to provide a friendly and personalised service, for instance, we send each of our guests a comprehensive Guidebook that we and our local representative in Istria, have written together made up of all our favourite restaurants, things to do and places to see, along with useful information about nearest shops and banks and their opening times etc. We love it out there and hope that you get the opportunity to experience it to. The area is fabulous, lots of gorgeous views, near to a small village by foot or 10 minutes by car to the nearest town.
Unique benefits of the property
This is a gorgeous villa suitable either for couples or one or two families. The villa is situated right by a small village which sells gorgeous red wine and there is a little restaurant which is very convenient. A 15 minute walk down the road there is an amazing gastronomic restaurant which serves fabulous 5 course meals in its lovely garden, perfect for a relaxing afternoon with the kids playing in the garden. There are three other villas in the same plot of land, owned by different people, all with there own pools and gardens and we can liaise with other owners should you wish to hire more than one villa at a time - perfect for large families.
