Croatian Stone house, superbly located within the narrow streets of Stari Grad. The house occupies 3 floors with an open spiral staircase. A terrace on the middle floor gives views across to the church spire. The original stone walls and old Roman sink set within the property gives the house an authentic feel. Recently restored and renovated by local workmen, the house has a newly fitted shower room, separate wc and kitchen. Stari Grad offers delicious fresh local produce and the excellent open fire stone baked pizzas are delicious. Catch the early morning fish market to see the local fishermen spill from their boats to sell their morning wares. The crystal clear waters, many coves and inlets offer numerous swimming and exploring opportunities. Famous for its lavender in June, the landscape of Hvar Island is of mixed terrain, offering an excellent array of activities from walking, cycling, sailing, swimming, diving, photography or simply just relaxing and watching island life go by!

10% discount on second week for a two week booking. Further discounts available for longer term lets, depending on time, dates and situation (please ask for details).
Changeover day
Preferred changeover day is Saturday, though this can be flexible depending on other bookings and flights etc. Not applicable for short term lets.

Towels and bedlinen are provided and changed weekly or at the end of a stay. The property is cleaned at the beginning/end of a stay (more upon request at a small charge). |

Accessibility
Due to the open spiral staircase and large Italian style opening windows, the house is not suitable for toddlers, young children or people of a frail disposition.
Outside
The outside terrace on the first floor, includes a little table and chairs for eating, reading or relaxing and catching the rays. There is a BBQ area at the end of the terrace, which is nice for cooking fresh local fish and produce.
Coast/Beach
The beach and swimming areas are 10 mins walk. The pebbly beaches and rocky enclaves offer safe swimming in beautiful crystal clear waters.
Travel
Nearest international airport is Split (on the mainland). The regular airport bus connects inbound and outbound flights with Splits ferry port. Ferries from Split to Stari Grad take approx 1hr and 45mins, with 5 - 6 boats a day in the summer and 3 boats a day the rest of the year. Local buses meet the ferry at Stari Grad ferry port and take you to Stari Grad’s town centre (or to other towns and locations on the island). The house is 5 minutes walk from the bus stop in Stari Grad.
Further details
Stari Grad has 2 ATM machines (The local currency is 'Kuna'). There are 3 supermarkets and local bakeries a great butchers and many smaller stores offering food and produce. At Easter and in the summer months there are local festivities and concerts which take place in Stari Grad as well as in other locations over the island.
Bike and car hire is available on the island as well as a good local bus network (Stari Grads main bus stop is 5 mins walk from the house).
Booking notes
For bookings and enquiries, please email or phone. 20% of the total amount is required as a deposit when booking. Full payment is then due 6 weeks prior to arrival. A £200 returnable breakages and key security deposit is due when balance is paid. This will be refunded once the key is returned and after the property has been inspected.
Note: Croatia stipulates a 'Tourist tax' of approx 1 euros per day per person, which should be paid at tourist office.

'Catherine, Thank you so much for letting us stay in your lovely house in Stari Grad. We had a perfectly relaxing time doing next to nothing - bliss. We got to have some swims and recommend walking beyond the hotel and jetty to more remote swim areas. Really enjoyed walking out the other side of the harbour towards the ferry and watching the sun set, looking out to sea. Also enjoyed chilling out in the cafe in the quiet square just watching people and time go by. Will definitely want to be going back as perfect spot for unwinding and relaxing and just being...
