Gabella is a detached stone house in Viganj. It enjoys protected status for its historical interest and has been fully restored throughout. It commands superb views over Viganj, the Adriatic and the island of Korcula beyond, from its slightly elevated position, 300m from the sea. Behind, the house is sheltered by the imposing mountains of the Peljesac Peninsula. Gabella is arranged over 3 floors with the lounge taking up the whole of the top floor. The bedroom and lounge levels benefit from air-conditioning. There is also a fully fitted kitchen, separate dining room and 2 bathrooms. Outside, Gabella's terrace offers total privacy. This is a very peaceful and beautiful area, close to beaches, restaurants and all amenities.

Changeover day
I'm flexible on changeover days. It depends on your flights really.

Notes on accommodation
The air conditioners have heater capability.
Accessibility
The driveway is steep and would not be suitable for wheelchair users. Parking is about 100 metres from the front door at the bottom of the drive.
Outside
Gabella's terrace, behind the house, offers total privacy.
Coast/Beach
300m to the sea but the best beaches are a little further at about 1km or a 15-20 minute stroll along the coast or 3 minutes drive. There are other beaches all within 10 to 15 minutes drive. Your stroll or drive will take you by a choice of cafes and restaurants with extensive menus.
Travel
The nearest airport is Dubrovnik which is a very beautiful 2 hour drive away. You can also arrive into Split which is a 3 hour drive. Should you arrive by ferry to Korcula, you will need to take another ferry to Orebic (15 minute transfer).
Orebic is only 10 minutes from Gabella. I would always suggest hiring a car to allow you to see the area. It is possible to transfer from the airport by taxi and hire a car locally but overall I've found it cheaper to hire a car at the airport.

Viganj village, supermarket, sea 300m. Post Office 1km. Orebic 7km. Dubrovnik 110km.
Further details
After the village of Viganj, Orebic is the nearest town and boasts a beautiful ancient promenade full of restaurants and occasionally, a market. Orebic offers supermarkets, banks, bakers, greengrocers, chemists everything you could need. On the road between Orebic and Viganj you will find places offering tennis, boule, boat hire, car hire, bicycle hire, scuba diving and watersports equipment hire including all forms of wind and kitesurfing.
Booking notes
Upon booking I will ask for a 30% non-returnable deposit with the balance payable 90 days before the date of the booking. I also ask for a £100 deposit against breakages which will be returned to you after the premises have been checked and cleared.
