Ground Floor Apartment, Renovated Old Stone House
Peaceful Residential Location, 10 Mins Walk to Beaches and Village Centre
Sleeps 2/4 (1 Bedroom)

This is the ground floor apartment of an original old stone house built approximately 150 years ago. Renovation has been carried out by local craftsmen to extremely high specification. The apartment consists of an open-plan kitchen and living area supplemented by a modern shower room with wash basin and wc. There is a double bedroom and a double sofabed in the living area giving a capacity of 4 persons. Bol is a quite unique location and probably one of the most desirable holiday destinations in Croatia. It is the home of the most famous - and most photographed - beach in Croatia: Zlatni Rat (Golden Horn). Bol is also the oldest settlement on the island of Brac. The central part of the village is built mainly of stone of local origin but there are more modern buildings on the outskirts of the village and modern hotels are discreetly hidden among the pine trees between the village and Zlatni Rat.

Coast/Beach
There are several local beaches in the village which are very picturesque and offer a very different atmosphere to the popular Zlatni Rat. Zlatni Rat can be accessed via a pine covered tiled walkway from the village (approximately 20 minutes stroll). In season there are frequent ferries from the village harbour to Zlatni Rat and a land train which runs to and from the seafront in the village to the beach.
Travel
Many carriers now fly to Croatia. Split airport is served by Wizzair - from Luton, easyJet - from Gatwick and Croatia Airlines - from Gatwick and Heathrow. Also flights into Split from other UK airports as well as flights from all over Europe. There is a small airport near Bol served by small, twin-turbo aircraft carrying about 100 passengers. Croatia Airlines runs a service from Zagreb to Bol. There are other airlines running services into Bol airport from other European locations.
Distances
Bol is linked to the mainland (Split) by a once-a-day catamaran service which leaves Bol early in the morning (6.30 am) and returns at 5 pm (leaving Split at 4 pm). This is definitely the most convenient method of accessing Bol from the mainland, taking only one hour. Other methods are car ferry from Split-Supetar-Split (1 hour) and then taxi (35 minutes) or local bus service (1 hour).

"Would just like to thank you for a great stay. The apartment was by far the best we stayed in throughout our travels in Croatia. It is a lovely apartment."
"We had a great time in Bol, really enjoyed it. The apartment was brilliant, nice view, nice stroll into town and nice to be in an orginal building not one of the new builds."

"Thanks ever so much for the apartment - we both really enjoyed staying there. It made a pleasant change to be in a foreign country and have a really comfortable bed which instantly won us over! Location was great, especially the beautiful walk to Zlatni Rat"

About the owner
I love my holidays in Bol! Other interests are my family, graphic design, football (I support my local non-league side), swimming, gardening, diy.
Year purchased: 2004
Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
I have Croatian friends who had told me not to buy abroad until I had been to Croatia and, in particular, Bol. We went to Bol on a package deal staying at one of the hotels for a week. As soon as we saw Bol we fell in love with it. It is a really beautiful location and the sea is so clean and clear. Being on the seaward side of an island makes access just a little more awkward and, therefore, more appealing.
Unique benefits of the property
The property is set in a small, quiet residential close with friendly local people as neighbours. It is only five minutes from the centre of the village and all of the beaches are between five and 25 minutes walk.
