Villa Fontana is licensed and regulated by The Croatian National Tourist Board and we have been awarded First Class Category. Janet and Miro are your hosts - originally from Manchester, Janet has lived in Cavtat for many years and Miro is a native of Dubrovnik. Villa Fontana is situated just 4km from Dubrovnik airport and only 15km from the beautiful city of Dubrovnik - the Pearl of the Adriatic. Water taxis and buses run regularly from the centre of Cavtat to Dubrovnik.
All our apartments have air conditioning, wi-fi access, satellite TV, hairdryer, wooden or laminate flooring, and are tastefully furnished throughout. Apartments and rooms are serviced weekly and we provide a towel service twice weekly.

Notes on prices
The prices quoted are per apartment, per night. NO supplements.
We do not charge for single occupancy, nor do we charge extra for maximum occupancy. The price you see is the price you pay - no hidden extras, and includes a free airport transfer for your arrival. The prices quoted are in Croatian Kuna, but we can also accept payment in £ sterling, paid into our British bank account. Unfortunately, we don't have the facility to accept payment by card.
Changeover day
Normal check-in time is 2:00pm and check-out is 12:00 noon however, if your flights are outside these hours we have a free left luggage service available.

Apartments 1, 3 and 4

Apartment 1 is accessed at road level and has one double bedroom. There is accommodation for up to 4 people when the sofa bed in the lounge is utilised. The balcony overlooks the swimming pool and sun terrace, and offers a breathtaking view of the Dalmatian mountains. Apartment 3 is accessed at terrace level and has one double bedroom with large balcony. There is accommodation for up to 4 people when the sofabed in the lounge is utilised. Apartment 2 has sea view and stunning views of the mountains and across the valley
Apartments 1 and 3 have views of the sun terrace and pool against the backdrop of Tangerine Valley and the Dalmatian mountains
Apartment 4 opens onto the large terrace area, shaded by the pomegranate and fig trees - help yourself if they are in season
Accessibility
Villa Fontana benefits from being totally on the flat so provides easier access for people with mobility problems. Although not specifically adapted for wheelchair access, we provide a ramp and would recommend Apartment 4 as being the most user-friendly for wheelchair users.
Outside
The Fountain forms the centrepiece of the communal terrace, where there is a large barbecue available for general use, and a mini bar operating on an 'honour' system. Our beautiful, new pool surrounded by a landscaped sun terrace is the perfect place for you to enjoy a cooling drink from our second mini bar. Barbecue parties, car hire, tours in private people carrier (minimum 4 people) with driver/guide, water skiing or speed boat trips can all be arranged during your holiday. Coast/Beach
The pebbly beach is just a 3 min walk from the Villa, where you can bathe in the shallow waters of The Adriatic or, if you prefer to sunbathe on the rocks, there are many secluded spots along the waterside, where you will also find shade under the pine trees.

Travel
Dubrovnik airport is only 4km away. Hire Car is not essential but we will arrange it for you if you wish. Vehicles will be delivered to the Villa for you and collected at the end of the hire period. As a special concession to guests of Villa Fontana, our local supplier is happy to rent vehicles by the day if that suits you better than a full week. Please remember to bring your driving licence with you!
Distances
To the south, Montengro is about 30km away (passport required, and Euros), or about 155km to the north, Mostar (famous for the iconic bridge) is a very popular place - again passports required as this is in Bosnia, although they do accept kuna. If you fancy just a shortish run out (about 20km), then the botanical gardens at Trsteno are splendid.
Further details
Complimentary airport pick up on arrival, and only 150HRK return at the end of your holiday. Starter packs of basics are available to purchase for your arrival – details on request.
Boats and buses take you to Dubrovnik. The water taxis from Cavtat beach deliver you directly into the old harbour within the city walls of Dubrovnik. The 2008 price was 80HRK return but for Villa Fontana guests there is a discount of 10HRK. The journey takes 45 minutes. Keep a look out for the dolphins!
The tourist bus leaves twice a day from the nearby Hotel Albatros reception, Mon - Sat, at 9.15 and 11.00am and returns at 3pm. This costs 20HRK (2008 prices) one way and takes about half an hour to the Pile gate of Dubrovnik. There is also the local bus (No 10) which departs every half hour from the bus station in Cavtat (12HRK). This goes to the new part of Dubrovnik with a shuttle bus back to the old town. This route takes in Gruz harbour, and the department stores, shops, fish and flower market, or the shuttle bus in the opposite direction goes to Lapad which is the main residential area with an interesting walkway with restaurants, bars and souvenir shops, beach and hotels.

Upon receipt of your booking we will issue you with an invoice and your deposit of £200 per apartment or £100 per room will be required by return. Your reservation is confirmed when the deposit arrives in our account, and the balance will be due one month before arrival. Our bank facilities are in the UK.
