The back garden (with almond, citrus and pomegranate trees) has a barbecue, and again a seating, tanning/lounging area. The large roof terrace has spectacular 360 degree sea, mountain and village views, a seating, tanning, lounging or dining area. Coast/Beach
The beach and sea are only seven steps from the garden. The waves are very small and the beach popular with families with small children, or adventurous teenagers! There are additional beautiful beaches along the coast within walking and cycling/driving distance.
During the season, locally in Viganj there are windsurfing, scuba diving and kite surfing hire and lessons. Sailing lessons are available from Korcula (20 mins ferry ride away).

Travel
Dubrovnik airport is about 1.5 - 2 hours drive, Split 3-4 hours. Car hire is recommended to make the most of the surrounding sites to visit and cheapest if booked ahead for pickup at the airport/town. Car hire is available in Orebic (about 7 km from Viganj) for around 30 euros/day. A taxi service from Dubrovnik is available at the cost of £100 return for 3-4 people depending on luggage.
Ferries travel regularly from Dubrovnik to nearby Korcula, taking approximately 2.5 hours.
Distances
Orebic, the closest town for banks, pharmacies, farmers markets, supermarkets etc is about 7km (10 mins drive) away. There are ferries to Korcula from Viganj (a couple of minutes walk from Villa Grace) and from Orebic port, and take 15-20 minutes.
Neighbouring seaside villages, e.g. Kuciste, Perna and Loviste are from 5 to 20 minutes drive away.
Further details
Viganj hosts an international windsurf and kite board competition each August. Other sporting activities include water skiing and wake boarding, snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing – small and blue water yachts, parascending, tennis, hiking and mountain biking. There are ample opportunities for cycling, walking or hiking either along the coastline or up the mountain. There is a 3-hour hike to the top of Mount Illija (961m), providing stunning views of Korcula Island.
The Peljesac peninsula is famous as the producer of Croatia's greatest wines, among them "Dingac" and "Postup". These wines are similar in strength, character and flavour to American Zinfandel. Korcula produces Croatia's most famous white wine, the Prosip. Locally made wine can be purchased from local markets, direct from wineries, farms or people's houses. Hire or take a boat to the nearby archipelago of Peljesac Channel, consisting of 20 islets, some of which are the most breathtaking in the Adriatic. Badija, with its 15th century monastery, Vrnik, is famous for its two quarries of white stone, and Majsan with prehistoric remains, are among the best known islands in the archipelago. Most of the islands are uninhabited, the vegetation is still naturally lush, and the water is blue and crystal clear. Other day trips by boat include the island of Hvar and the town of Split.

Guest comments
Absolutely fantastic location, we were almost able to jump into the sea from the garden! Children loved the clear water for paddling and Gran loved the view from her lounger on the balcony! Teresa, Simon & family, July 2007.
It was beautiful, we loved strolling to the restaurants in the evening, tried a new one every night, then slept it off in the sun each day... Carolyn and Mark, May 2007.
