We named our newly restored house 'Drugidom' which means Second Home in Croatian. Set in olive groves, vineyards and a beautiful country setting. It is an ideal location for peaceful vacations, a short drive to amenities and cultural experiences. Motovun has an annual music and film festival. Pula hosts international concerts & events, and a variety of trips and excursions depart from Porec (15km away). There is a golf driving range at Motovun and the nearest beach is 15km.

Rijeka to Pahovici - approx 1 1/2 hours.
Trieste to Pahovici - approx 2 hours.
Distances
Motovun one of Istria's celebrated medieval hill top towns for arts and crafts - 10 min drive.
Porec for nightclubs, sports, sailing, diving etc - 20 min drive.
Visnjan - 10 min drive.
Spinovici is the next village.
Further details
Spinovici - agro tourism is close by - they provide fabulous fresh fruit and vegetables, salads, ham, cheese, wild boar and home made pasta. Visnjan and surrounding area- for restaurants. Many towns in Istria sell wine, olive oil and grappa. the nearest shop for fresh bread and provisions is at Karojba - 5 min drive.

Non-refundable 30% deposit of the total rental booking. The balance to be paid not less than 6 weeks prior to arrival. You should arrange your own cancellation insurance.

About the owner
I live with my husband and 3 cats in east Cork overlooking the sea.
We came to Ireland for a wedding and fell in love with it.
We came back for two more holidays and bought a house to use for holidays. We came back three or four times a year to recharge our batteries in this friendly village,and when we had the chance to take early retirement in 1997, we sold the house in Bristol and moved here permanently.
We have family in Bristol, Kent and Yorkshire. We enjoy visits from them to Ireland, but really look forward to when we can all get together in Croatia.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We have spent our summer holidays in Porec since 1987 and have made many friends there.
We have spent the last four years restoring and refurbishing the house from a small two bedroom house with a wine cellar on the ground floor, to a four
bedroom four bathroom house and studio apartment. We enjoy meeting up with our children and grandchildren for family holidays in the sun, the house can accomodate us all.
The other residents of Pahovici have made us very welcome,and have included us in local celebrations,and shared surplus garden produce with us. Istrian people are very generous.
A big bonus has been the arrival of budget airlines to Trieste and Pula. We try to be flexible with bookings to allow our guests to take advantage of cheap flights.
Unique benefits of the property
Building the swimming pool and making the garden has been the best.You can be as energetic or relaxed as you like.
The locals are so welcoming and helpful.
The clear skys over Istria mean that you can see millions of stars with no light polution, and there is an observitory 10minutes away at Visnjan.
There are numerous local festivals. eg international film and music festivals are held in Motovun. Pula hosts a film festival and holds concerts by world famous artists.
there are also three or four festivals in Visnjan during the summer.
Truffle hunting is a local passtime (if you like them).
