Coast/Beach
We have 3 fantastic beaches within 2 minutes walk (see photos). These are comparatively quiet even in high season. If however you want to be on the most famous beach in Croatia (Zlatni Rat), featured in just about every tourist guide to the country, you can stroll through town, along the famous 'marble walk' and be there in half an hour. Alternatively, get a water taxi from the harbour and arrive there in 10 minutes.

Travel
To get to Brac fly to Split. British Airways and EasyJet have direct flights from Gatwick. Wizzair have direct flights from Luton. Holiday Options; flight only from a variety of regional airports. Ryanair; from Stansted to Zadar (2 hour drive to Split). Croatian Airlines is another to look at. Having arrived at Split airport take the Croatian Airlines coach to the harbour (£3) then either catch the car ferry to Supetar; 13 times a day, or the fast passenger ferry direct to Bol, 4pm only.

Distances
Split airport to Split harbour 30 mins. Ferry to Supetar 45 mins, about £4 for foot passengers, £20 for a car. Fast passenger ferry to Bol about £4 per person. Bus, taxi from Supetar to Bol, 45 mins. There is a good bus service on Brac. A car is by no means essential to have a great time here but if you do want one then hiring it from the airport is very much cheaper than on the island; £20/day mainland; £40 on the island. 3 scooter hire places in Bol, this is a great way to see the island.

Further details
There are at least 15 different restaurants in Bol, not counting the hotels and a similar amount of bars, so you can try a different one each night.
Fish is a speciality as it is plentiful and freshly caught. Grilled meat is usually cooked over an open fire and is also very popular, together with salads. A strong Italian influence is present, so pizza and pasta are plentiful.
The centre of town is quite lively in high season, which is great, but it's nice to stroll back to the quieter end of town when your bed beckons.
There are 3 supermarkets and two bakeries, also a small fruit and vegetable market is situated in the middle of town. You can buy fresh fish straight from the dock when the catch is landed. There are several ATM machines which will take all cards in the market place.
Bol is recognised as the activity town on Brac.
Bol is the wind and kite surfing capital of Croatia and often hosts international championships. There are 3 equipment hire centres along the beach.
There are several places along the sea front where you can hire a motor boat for the day. Costs about £40 /day; makes a great day out.
It is also possible to hire a jet ski or speed boat as well as canoes and sailing dinghies.
Scuba diving, hire and tuition are available from Big Blue.
There are lots of good quality tennis courts available.
About half the south coast of Brac is only accessible by water or off road vehicle so you can explore either by boat or hire a mountain bike or a Quad bike. There are several places renting both these.
For those looking for something more relaxing one hotel offers massage and beauty treatments at very reasonable prices.
There are organised trips to the mainland or other islands available from two travel agencies in Bol.
Many boats leave the harbour for other destinations, so if you want to be free and easy, arrange your own tour. Fares are cheap. A whole day trip to Havar and surrounding islands including a fish picnic is approx. £12/person.

Guest comments
We had a lovely holiday, though so hot - we really were glad of the fans. We thought the apartment was really nice and also in a very good location, as it does get noisey in town at night so to be away from all that was ideal. We found the flat to be well equiped and we even cooked a couple of nights when we started to get resturant fatige. Sarah Burrows. Hearts.

We had a wonderful time in Bol and in your beautiful designed flat. We were very happy to stay there and have our small aperitifs in the cosy balcony. Thanks a lot, we will definatly come back on our next visit to Bol. Rona and Edo Koblens. London.

Lovely apartment and Bol is perfect for people wanting to visit a beatiful, relaxing place that still has a bit of night life.the apartment is perfectly located just away from the main centre and 2 mins from a lovely quiet beach, and is very clean and smart.
