The apartment is situated on the top floor of a three storey block with balcony views over the bay towards the small harbour at Gornji Okrug. Only 8km from Split airport, Okrug is a bustling holiday and fishing town in a sheltered bay on the north side of beautiful Island of Ciovo. Access from the mainland is over a small bridge onto Trogir and then a further bridge over the channel to Ciovo. The apartment is 45 sq m with a double bedroom wehich can be 2 singles and a comfortable fold down double bed settee in the lounge. There is seating for 4 at the dining table with plenty of glass, crockery and cook ware. There is a 4 ring electric hob, oven and dishwasher and of course a fridge freezer for cool drinks which can be enjoyed on the child safe balcony. The apartment is 250 metres from the beach and there are plenty of supermarkets and restaurants within walking distance. Trogir is 20 minutes on foot where there are banking facilities. Buses to Trogir and Split are frequent.

Coast/Beach
The island of Ciovo has a wonderful, varied coastline surrounded by clear water. The main beach is 300 metres from the apartment. It is pebbled and child safe with café bars. Walk farther around past the small harbour and there is a lido beach, again safe for children. For those who prefer seclusion, continue to walk and one can lie alone in the sun out-of-the-way. There is also magnificent snorkelling and diving opportunities at the Trogir Diving Centre.
Travel
Trogir is situated a mere 8km from Split Airport and Gornji Okrug can be reached by airport taxi in a few minutes. Seasoned travellers can use the frequent local bus service to Trogir and then taxi to the apartment. Directions in Croation will be emailed to clients.
Travel from the UK to Split is now reasonably priced and it is served by British Airways, Easyjet and Sky Europe. There are several car hire firms at the airport.
Distances
The area is steeped in history. The island of Trogir is a 20 minute walk and has outstanding architecture and is protected by UNESCO. Take a 24km bus ride into Split and you will find magnificent Roman ruins still inhabited today in the old city. Whilst at Solin (20km) you will see the magnificent ruins of a Roman city. The Krka National Park with the breathtaking waterfalls can be reached by car (90minutes) or on an organized tour.
Further details
There are numerous supermarkets and restaurants on Ciovo. The closest market is 250 metres where fresh bread and vegetables and all necessities can be bought. There is a larger supermarket on the beach road. The restaurants offer Dalmatian specialities, especially seafood and pizzas all at reasonable prices. There is a daily vegetable market in Trogir as well as a fish-market offering the catch of the day everyday except Monday. There are plenty of ATMs on Trogir all accept UK cards.
