Further details
There are isolated beaches and coves within walking distance and Okrug beach, with it's beach side cafes and bars, is a few minutes walk away. The local harbour area has several good restaurants and is a busy, lively place during the season. The village of Okrug has a chemist, supermarket, hairdressers and other shops. It is possible to spend your holiday without moving from the Island of Ciovo. The stunning World Heritage Site of Trogir is about half an hours walk away. During the season there is a small ferry from Okrug beach. Here you will find a colourful daily market and a Sunday fish market, loads of good restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, and beautiful architecture spanning nearly three thousand years. Due to the narrow passageways there is no traffic excepting the one road on the edge of the town leading to the mainland.
Visit the fascinating Roman city of Split where you will find the Emperor Diocletian's Palace. Make a day of it and enjoy the bustling capital of Dalmatia, taking in the famous Riva, good shopping and the atmosphere of this most unusual city. The coach from Trogir costs about a pound and terminates in the center.
The lakes and waterfalls of Krka National Park are well worth a day. A really pleasant, relaxing and cool experience. Make your own way there by bus or consider an organized trip which includes a visit to Sibenik. Any visit includes a boat trip to the collections of falls.
The small islands of Drvenik Mali (small) or Veliki (big) is another great day out. Lovely typical Mediterranean country walks and beautiful bays and beaches but few restaurants or bars and only the one shop. There is a ferry that runs several times a day, costs just over two pounds for a return trip and takes about an hour to get there.
If you have a car, venture inland for hilltop castles, towns and a long-forgotten rural way of life.

Hi Paul,
Just a quick feed back. My wife and I had a smashing time. Your apartment was kitted out very smartly. We enjoyed quite a few evenings at the bottom of the hill just reading and watching the sun sink down with just a couple of beers to boot! The views from around the area are breathtaking and it was lovely to sit at night time right on the beach front bar sipping our beverages. It's a beautiful Island with friendly folk. Took a ferry boat ride from Trogir to a small Island for the day. Took some regular visits to Trogir's market to stock up on fresh veg etc., great fun. Did eat at the Pizza restaurant you recommended, very nice. Also visited the National Park just about an hours drive north. Fantastic
place with some beautiful water falls and the smallest island with a monastery, a must for any visitor. To answer your question about our stay, we were only there for the week and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.
Regards.
Tony.
