It has a private south facing swimming pool, a garden, a south facing patio area, sea views, panoramic views, a barbeque. Villa Barbara sits in its own spacious, lawned grounds, enclosed by a stone wall and surrounded by fields. Although it is a stand-alone Villa, it is 150m away from the local villagers to feel comfortable and safe but peaceful and quiet.

Notes on accommodation
Car rental essential. Private parking secured inside the property. The property management is available at your call. No extra cost to be paid at arrival.
Smoking is not permitted inside the house but only outdoor. The house and the guests are insured against of injuries but it is advisible to have travel insurance by your own as well.
Outside
A 1000 sq meters of the grassed garden with cherry trees and an olive around the house, off road and fenced. Suitable for children but must be supervised around the pool area. Private swimming pool size is 8m x 4m (with 1-1.5m deep) with automatic watter cleaning system of the high standard.
Covered terrace equiped with extra table and 6 chairs.
In built large barbeque/summer kitchen just a few steps from the house and stone table with iron chairs in the natural shadow of the big cherry tree.
Coast/Beach
The villa is 30 min drive away from beaches in Vrsar, Funtana and Porec. Several fine beaches lie along the Vrsar's coastline including Koversada, 1km to the south, which is exclusive to naturists.
Golf
18 hole golf course on Brijuni island (by short boat trip from Fazana).
6 hole golf course in Motovun (35 min drive).
18 hole championship course at Kempinski Hotel Golf Club approx. 50 mins drive from villa.
Travel
Airports: Pula airport distance 40 mins drive and Trieste in Italy about 1hr 30 mins by car.
Porec and Rovinj large touristic towns with ports to Venice(Italy) or Briuni Islands.
The car rental is essential.
Distances
The villages of Sv. Lovrec (7km) or Kanfanar (10km) offer basic shops, a post office, bankomat, cafes and several 'konobas' (typical country inns). The very good pizza is located in Sv Lovrec.
Porec and Rovinj are 30 minutes drive distance.
Further details
The Brijuni Islands, a small archipelago famous as a National Park. Access to this beautiful conservation area is strictly controlled with boat trips available only from Pula and the town of Fazana.
Rovinj is one of the most developed seaside resorts in Croatia, offering a whole range of visitor opportunities in a picturesque ambience of the ancient town, surrounded by luxuriant pine forests.
The nearby Limski Kanal, a slender, tree-lined fjord is without doubt one of the most scenic sights in Istria. Cutting a deep swathe inland from the coast, its sparkling, aquamarine waters are designated a marine reserve and produce some of the freshest oysters, mussels and fish in Croatia.
Dvigrad castle, constructed in the 11th century close to a slender, south-facing limestone outcrop, was abandoned in the 17th century due to a pest outbreak. Nowadays only the ruins remain of one of Istria's most famous hallmarks, but it still dominates the Lemme channel, the plain below and the limestone crag opposite.
Dvigrad is a well-preserved and very atmospheric historical monument evoking images of a colourful and lively past and well worth a visit.
Vrsar (18km) is a pretty Roman, hilltop town dominated by an eighteenth century castle where classical music concerts are held in the summer months. Just below the town there is a bustling marina and quayside with various local shops and cafés.
Pula on the southern tip of the peninsula is Istria's capital. More than 3000 years old, established by Romans, the city and rich evidence of their presence remains including the Forum, a triumphal archway, the Temple of Augustus and an immense amphitheatre near the port. Built in the first century BC the amphitheatre is the sixth largest in the world and one of the three best preserved. Regular classical, opera and pop concerts are held there each summer.

The villa barbara is very beautiful, very spacious and is appointed to a very high standard. The villa is situated in an idyllic, peaceful rural area, yet within twenty minutes of the sea, and it is ideally placed for touring. The maintenance of the villa and grounds was excellent. we all thoroughly enjoyed the tranquillity and privacy of the countryside setting in frankovici. Villa barbara is a luxurious stone built house with a fantastic pool, outside bbq and wood oven area, stone walled gardens. The beds were very comfortable and meant we slept well and for a long time with the shutters keeping the daylight at bay. The villa is in an excellent position for touring the area being pleasant drives on virtually empty roads. Highly recommended! The philip family
