Coast/Beach
2 beaches with shingle beach and clear water within 5 mins of house (1 down steep path, the other more gentle).
2 other beaches within 5 minutes driving down tracks - in different coves.
Travel
Dubrovnik airport 1 1/2 hrs drive
Split airport 2-2 1/2 hrs drive.
These two place also have ferries from Italy (so cheap flights to |Bari and Ancona).
Car is almost essential, although the property is about 3 km from the main Dubrovnik-Split road with has frequent public buses.
Distances
12 mins drive to Opuzen (Supermarket, petrol and restaurant), 20 mins drive to Metkovic (regional centre - banks, Post Office, Electrical, hardware, mobile phone shops, outdoor market).
30 mins to Ploce - ferries to Peljesac peninsula and to Korcula.
Further details
Places to visit: Mostar is 45 mins - interesting town with famous bridge rebuilt and still strong evidence of the 1993 war.
Marvellous fruit, veg, cheese and honey for sale by roadside (market gardening area in Neretva delta)
Typical seaside Dalmatian villages - Blace and Duboka.
Pass thru Neum in Bosnia on road to Dubrovnik - duty free etc
