During your stay a cottage in Cowes you’ll be free to see everything that Isle of Wight has to offer. Alum Bay, to the west of the island, is famous for its distinctive, multi-coloured sand cliffs. At the cliff-top you’ll be able to find an array of amusements during the summer months. Also on the west coast, and a few minutes by car from Cowes holiday rentals is the Needles – an unusual series of chalk stacks off the coast. For a taste of the island’s history, Osborne House is located on the eastern coast of the Isle of Wight, a short drive from Cowes self-catering holiday homes. It was built for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert as a summer retreat and was designed by the Prince himself. It was here, at this Renaissance-style, Palazzo that the queen died in 1901.
Weather
Due to the island’s southerly location, you’ll be able to enjoy milder weather at Isle of Wight holiday cottages. In the summer, temperatures regularly hit the 20s, while rarely dropping below zero in the winter.
Best Time to Visit
A good time to head for Isle of Wight accommodation is in August when the Cowes Regatta takes place.
Reaching Cowes
The easiest way to reach Cowes self-catering holiday homes and cottages is to take a Red Funnel ferry from Southampton with a regular timetable throughout the day.
