Closer to Colmurano farmhouses is the hillside town of Tolentino, home to the gothic Cappellone di San Nicola Basilica, which boasts stunning 14th Century renaissance frescoes. Meanwhile, visitors to Colmurano holiday cottages with a taste for the outdoors will find plenty to enjoy at the Monti Sibillini National Park, a little way to the southwest. With staggeringly beautiful upland scenery – there are more than 50 mountain peaks found within the park’s boundaries – it’s a great destination for hiking and mountain biking.
