The town centre is also well worth exploring if you’re staying at Christchurch holiday home – it boasts a number of historic structures including pubs that date back to the 17th Century, the 15th Century Town Bridge and the Mayor’s Parlour, a former market hall constructed in 1745. Also well worth visiting from a cottage in Christchurch is the Priory, which dates to the 12th Century, which served as a monastery before Henry VIII’s dissolution in the 16th Century.

There’s a wealth of beaches close to Christchurch self-catering holiday accommodation, including long, sandy bays, picturesque coves and waters that are ideal for swimming and activities like body boarding. If you head along the coast from Christchurch to Poole you’ll come to the famous Sandbanks, which offers more stunning blue flag awarded beaches complemented by a water sports centre offering a host of fun-filled activities for all ages. Inland there’s some wonderful scenery, especially at the New Forest National Park, which features large expanses of woodland, pasture and heathland, as well as a diversity of wildlife, all within half an hour of Christchurch holiday homes.
