Crown Point airport is about 45 minutes drive from Castara.
Cars can be hired locally in the village & probably works out cheaper than sourcing them in Scarborough or the airport.
Our local representative who is also a qualified tour-guide, will be available for airport pickup & drop-off & can organise tours as well. We cannot say that a car is by any means essential.

Scarborough, the capital of Tobago is a half-hour drive away and has the entire necessary infrastructure that one needs while on vacation ie banks, hospitals, supermarkets etc.
Crown Point-Castara 17 miles
Scarborough-Castara 12 miles
Englishmans Bay-Castara 4 miles
Charlotteville-Castara 20 miles

About the owner
My wife and I first went to Castara on our honeymoon in 1998. We fell in love with the village and decided to return the following year. On our return, we noticed a handwritten sign by the side of the road advertising "Land for sale". We phoned up the number shown & the rest is history. We have been gradually adding to the buildings on the property since then, doing most of the work ourselves on our visits to the island....hard work!
We hope that you will visit our little corner of paradise & enjoy it as much as we have done over the years.
All our love to you all,
Steve & Rita Meeus.
Year purchased: 1999
Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
Tobago, generally and Castara in particular is a beautiful destination, with spectacular ocean & rain forest views all around. The two beaches are pristine & both have restaurant/bars for the thirsty & hungry travellers & the locals are friendly & welcoming.
Compared to the hotel area around the airport. Castara is far more peaceful & secluded, offering good food, drink & evening entertainment without the noisy crowds that you might find in other locations on the island such as Crown Point & Buccoo.
Unique benefits of the property
Toad Hall is located just off the main (Northside) road. It offers privacy from the general population, while being close to the beaches & village centre. Also, all our units are self contained with their own private entrances, so you won`t find yourselves tripping over other guests all the time. There are extensive outdoor eating facilities including 2 barbecue areas, clay oven & cast-iron "copper" - used for cooking fish stews for up to 30 people at one time.
