Castara Cottage is perfectly located on the headland between on the headland between the two beautiful bays of Castara, one of the most beautiful fishing villages on the island. It is just two minutes walk away from both beaches, and is surrounded by rainforest covered hills and lush vegetation which is a haven for Tobagonian birds. The apartments are spacious, light and airy, each being completely self – contained with well equipped kitchens, large fridge – freezers, full – sized cookers, coffee – making facilities, private patios and lounge areas with comfortable furniture. Castara Cottage is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the peacefulness of exotic surroundings, sip a cool drink while swinging in a hammock, watch colourful birds in their natural habitat, and enjoy cool breezes while listening to the sound of the waves breaking on the nearby beaches. For times when you want to be a bit more active, there is sightseeing, swimming, snorkelling, fishing etc.

Changeover day
Guests are required to vacate the apartments by 12 noon, unless agreed by the Manager.
Notes on accommodation
There is no air conditioning but none is needed the apartment is designed to be open and gain maximum benefit from the refreshing sea breezes - all windows are shuttered.
All rooms contain a safety deposit box.
For larger groups Tamarind and Saffron apartments can be linked via an inter - connecting door to provide one very large unit with two kitchens and bathrooms.
A mobile telephone is available for use by guests.
A mobile child's cot is available on request.
Brigitte, the manager, provides a laundry changing service twice per week and, being a local resident, is on hand if needed.
Outside
The cottage is surrounded by a lush garden. Tamarind and Cinnamon have external decked areas, and there is a bar - b - que which is accessible to all guests.
Coast/Beach
The cottage is a short walk away from two beautiful beaches - Castara Bay is a gently curving horse-shaped strech of golden sand, which gently slopes into the sea. Several fishing bots are usually moored in the bay, and fishermen can be seen setting out, or returning from a day's fishing, or casting their seine fishing nets in the bay.
Hevenly Bay is smaller, and also offers very safe swimming and snorkeling - there is also a reef about 100 yards away from thye shore.
Travel
Crown Point, the only airport on the island, is 14 miles and about a 40 minute drive away. There is a regular bus service to and from Scarborough, but car hire is recommended for ease of travel and sightseeing to all parts of the island.
Car hire is ideal, but not absolutely necessary as there is a good bus service which serves most parts of the island.
Distances
Castara is one of a string of villages along the Northern main Road. Other nearby villages are Bloody Bay, Lans Fourmi, Parlatuvier and Englishman's Bay a spectacularly beautiful bay.
Tobago is only 26 miles long in total, so nowhere is to far to visit.
Further details
There is a post office in the village and a number of shops selling groceries and other every -day items. The larger supermarkets in Scarborough, and 'Penny Savers' in Buccoo are good for larger shopping needs. Most places in Castara only serve local food. As menus are rarely displayed, you will need to ask what food is being served, how it has been cooked and the price. Most meals cost about $50 TT for a main course. ‘Under D’Almond Tree’ is a popular local restaurant owned by Vera where you can take your own alcoholic drinks. For fast food or international food head towards Pigeon Point, Store Bay or Buccoo. Banks can be found in Scarborough and Pidgeon Point. There is a bar and restaurant on both Big and Heavenly Bays.
Booking notes
A 50% deposit is required to secure bookings, with the balsnce paid into a UK bank account four weeks before the start of the stay. Payment accepted by banker's draft, Pay Pal or money transfer agencies like Western Union or Moneygram.
