The villa is approx 7200sq ft including verandas and pool. It is set within its own grounds of just under 1 acre and is about 400 yards from the coast. The lounge and all the bedrooms face the sea and being 200 feet above sea level, the views are breathtaking. Whitehouse is about 1 mile to the east and the new Sandals complex is about one mile to the west.

Notes on prices
Price is based on 6 adults in US$. Children under 6 incur no extra cost. Price includes helper/maid service. We can offer breakfast and evening meal at cost. Alternatively you can purchase you own supplies and if required Daisy will cook for you at no extra cost. Daisy can make anything taste special from a traditional Jamaican meal to most English/European dishes.

| Bedrooms: | All bedrooms have air conditioning. Bedrooms 1 and 2 share a shower, WC and wash hand basin. Bedroom 3 is the master suite with shower room with WC and twin wash hand basins. All rooms open on to the veranda surrounding the pool. |
| Bathrooms: | There is and additional wash hand basin with wc off the lounge kitchen area. |
| Kitchen: | Cooker, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and ample fitted cupboards. |
| Utility Room: | Washing machine, ironing board and iron. |
| Living Rooms: | The lounge/dining area is separated from the kichen by a bar with 3 bar stools. The dining table will seat 6 to 8 people. The lounge area has a 3 peice recliner leather suite a glass top coffee table and display cabinets. DVD, CD and Radio. |
| Other: | The main living area are the verandas surrounding the pool. An 8 seater table with fitted bench seats is on the east veranda off the master bedroom. A six seater table with cussioned recliner chairs is on the veranda off the dining area. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Property is cleaned regularly, towels changed as required and bed linen changed weekly or on request. Pool will be cleaned and water tested every other day. |

Notes on accommodation
Children are welcome but must be supervised because the pool is within the main living area of the villa and is unfenced.The villa is on a hillsde and facing the sea, consequently there is always a breeze so even on the hottest and most humid of days a comfortable place can be found to sit and relax.
Outside
The garden is just under 1 acre and mainly lawn on a steep 1:4 slope. A gas BBQ is available on request FOC + gas and may be used on the verandas within the villa. The villa is unusual in that all the out side furniture and pool is only accessable after entering the villa. 3 sides of the pool are surrounded by the villa the forth side faces the sea. As the villa faces southwest some of the most amazing sunsets can be observed as the sun drops into the Caribbean sea. Under the villa is accommodation for the helper but the only access to the villa is through the front door.
Coast/Beach
Although the nearest beach is only 400 yards away a few miles to the west is the famous Bluefields beach with restaurants and sandy beaches but who needs a beach if you have your own pool.
Travel
Car hire is recommended. The villa is about 40 miles from Montego Bay and it takes about 1½ hours to drive to the villa. Driving in Jamaica is OK if you're from the UK, in Jamaica they drive on the left. A detailed map will be sent if requested to help you find the villa or if at all uncertain we can arrange for someone to escort you from the airport to the villa.

The view of the ocean is absolutely spectacular! Daisy and Bernard are the property owners and they are really hoping to make a profitable business for themselves and believe me when I say that they will do their best to make your stay a memorable one. Daisy is an amazing cook specialising in Jamaican cuisine (I highly recommend having her prepare all your meals) Bernard will help you with directions as he is well versed about the local happenings. The property is immaculately clean, the local market an experience you will never forget, and the Red Stripe beer just as good as any favourite you have. Don’t be afraid to tell them your likes and dislikes because they want you to be so satisfied that you can’t wait to book again next year.

About the owner
We are Bernard and Daisy Skan the villa's owners. I, Bernard am English and Daisy is from Jamaica. Her family, the Brown's, are from Westmoreland hence Daisy Brown's Hummingbird Villa. We hope to move to Jamaica in June 2011 and will occupy the lower deck of the villa so we can be on hand if any problem occurs. The lower deck of the villa is completely self contained and has a separate entrance.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
In 2004, I (Bernard) first visited Jamaica with Daisy. We stayed in a Montego Bay resort hotel which was OK but could have been anywhere warm and sunny. On our second day in Jamaica we drove from Montego Bay to Lennox Bigwoods in Westmoreland, Daisy's family home and birth place. The moment I arrived at Daisy's family home I was transported back to 1947 to the farm I was brought upon in Suffolk, I felt that I had come home. I met Daisy's mother who was in her mid 90's and could negotiate the barb wire fences better than me who was 30 years younger. Daisy's sister knew of a place for sale that needed completing near Whitehouse. We bought and renovated Hummingbird Villa. The rest is history.
