Whispers Villa takes its name from the whispering of the wind in the trees, and of the waves on the shore below. It sits within ¾ acres of private grounds, perched on a hillside overlooking the Grenadine islands. The beach is less than 10 minutes’ walk away. The villa has two levels. The upper level boasts two air-conditioned en suite bedrooms, either end of an attractive open-plan living, dining and kitchen area. Both bedrooms, and the living area, open directly to the spacious wraparound veranda and pool deck, featuring a 25’ infinity pool and jacuzzi, both with expansive views. On the lower level is a third bedroom, also air-conditioned and en suite, complete with its own living area and small kitchen - making it ideal for staff or for members of the party requiring their own space. This suite has its own veranda, again with views over the Grenadines, and has stepped access to the upper pool deck. Both levels are equipped to the highest standards.

Bedrooms: Three well-appointed bedrooms, all air-conditioned and with king size double beds. All bedrooms open onto the wide sea-facing verandas. Also two good quality Z-beds.
Bathrooms: All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms with a large walk in shower, wc and up-market vanity unit.
The master bedroom en-suite features a granite counter top with a luxury basin and tap.
Kitchen: Birch wood kitchen with Corian counter tops and breakfast bar. Fully equipped with electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer (with icemaker and chilled water dispenser) and dishwasher.
Utility Room: Separate laundry room with large (American style) washing machine and large (American style) dryer.
Living Rooms: Two living rooms. These are furnished and decorated with light wood and cream, with a good mix of sofas and armchairs. Also TV, DVD player and Hi Fi.
Other: The second living room combines with the third bedroom and a small kitchen area to create a separate apartment, ideal for staff or for members of the party wanting a little more privacy.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Cotton towels and linens are included. Laundry and cleaning once a week is included. More regular cleaning and laundering can be arranged if required.

 

Notes on accommodation
Not really suitable for children - the balconies are high up, and the pool and jacuzzi are not fenced off.

Accessibility
The property is accessed via a steep driveway and steps. It is therefore unsuitable for wheelchair users or the infirm.

Outside
Whispers features an 11 foot wide balcony wrapping round three sides of the building, affording spectacular views across to Mustique and down the Grenadines. It also provides a rare view of the Ravine Bay Blowhole. There’s always an area in the shade, and always an area in the sun. Whispers comes with high quality outdoor furniture: loungers, and a dining table and chairs for al fresco dining.

The upper level also boasts a wide tiled terrace, featuring the 25 foot pool (4 feet 6 inches deep throughout) and the large outdoor jacuzzi. The pool has an infinity edge on three sides. Both the pool and the jacuzzi are illuminated for romantic evenings. Shade in this area is provided by the beautiful gazebo, under which sits the large gas barbecue.

Whispers Villa sits at the top of a ¾ acre plot of land. The upper area is landscaped, with the lower two thirds planted with fruit trees. A concrete pathway, illuminated at night, winds through the gardens to the bottom of the plot.

Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is at Ravine Bay. This is less than 10 minutes’ walk from Whispers Villa - but usually a little more on the way back, as it’s all uphill! The beach is very secluded, and you will often find you are the only people there. But if you’re after a beach with loungers and a bar, you’ll want to check out some of the others - all Bequia's beaches are within 15 minutes' drive. When you’re at Ravine Bay beach, be sure to video the blowhole!

Golf
There are no golf course in Bequia, though there is a famous course at Raffles on nearby Canouan.

Travel
Bequia has its own small airport with direct flights from Barbados daily. This is the quickest way to arrive from the UK. A taxi can be arranged to transfer guests to Whispers. The more romantic (and cheaper!) way to arrive is to fly from Barbados to St Vincent and then take the inter-island ferry to Bequia. Once on Bequia, jeep hire is recommended. The owners can recommend reputable suppliers.

Distances
Bequia is only 5 miles long and 2 miles wide, so nothing is more than a 15 minute drive away.

Further details
Bequia is not for people looking for a rowdy nightlife. However, there are good shops and plenty of decent restaurants with reasonable prices. Dining choices include French and Mexican, as well as more traditional Caribbean styles (including fish and seafood). Bequia also provides two well established diving schools offering diving courses for all levels.

Booking notes
Booking is made via direct contact with the owner. A fifty percent deposit is required to confirm the booking, and the remaining balance is payable eight weeks before travel. Credit and debit cards are accepted.
