#9 Freshwater sits adjacent to the parking facilities and is 15 mins walk to Kensington Oval (5 mins drive), the home of cricket in Barbados; 30 mins walk to Broad Street, Bridgetown (7 mins drive); 20 mins walk to University of the West Indies Cave Hill (4-5 minute drive). It really is an excellent hideaway for the whole family and the owners often enjoy long weekends in the apartment when it is vacant. Occupants are at liberty to go to the supermarket of their choice to satisfy their individual requirements and the apartment contains everything that you would find in your own home - and if you don't find it, just ask - no reasonable request will be denied.

Notes on accommodation
Its useful to know that we the owners often visit Freshwater with our two kids aged 4 and 1. The gardens contain a gazebo right upwind to a built-in barbecue and we enjoy sunset dining with our BBQ supplies, plates, glasses etc. Most of the year (90%) the sea is calm, crystal clear and extremely relaxing. The one drawdown of the property is the vehicle entrance which passes by a power plant (there is truth in advertising here) so your first impression is quite 'industrial'. The property itself, however, is a real oasis as described by many returning visitors, over half of whom are British. Adjacent to the property, on Thursday nights, there is Karaoke, which is quite loud. The best way to beat them - is to join them and the locals are all very friendly and welcome visitors with our renowned hospitality.

Accessibility
I would not recommend the property for wheelchair users. However, their are limited steps throughout the property, so visitors with minimal mobility problems will not have a problem. Also, the beach is literally 65 of my steps away from the door to the apartment, so relaxation therapy is a short distance away!
Outside
Gardens and beach: there is access to lovely gardens which borders one of the famous West Coast beaches and calm waters. Late in the afternoon, you can relax in the garden and watch the sunset. There is a clear view of the Bridgetown Harbour and you may even witness the large cruise ships as they enter and exit the port. There is also access to a gazebo within the property. See above for further details.
Coast/Beach
Barbados is 166 sq miles. The Freshwater property sits on a beach, but a change of scenery is as close as a 5 minute walk, or a 35 minute drive over to the other side of the island.
Golf
A short 10 mins drive north and you'll come across the world famous Sandy Lane Golf Club. Tiger Woods tied the knot here a few short years ago and the greens are open to everyone - for a fee of course. Another 5 minute drive further north and a bit off the coast you will come across the Royal Westmoreland. Both of these courses have world renowned quality, and with your stay at Freshwater, you don't have to worry about a world renowned accommodation bill.
Special interest holidays
From high performance World Rally Cars to a tram ride through the extensive Harrison's Cave, to name two out of hundreds of activities on the island, there is truly never a dull moment in Barbados... unless you choose to relax and enjoy the Caribbean.
Travel
If you are arriving by plane, the newly refurbished Grantley Adams International Airport will be your first experience and truly, as a person that travels regularly as part of my job, in my opinion it is one of the best run in the world. A 30 minute drive will have you at Freshwater. Arriving by cruise ship, you will enter the Bridgetown Harbour where you can see the property as you dock. A taxi ride will have you on our beach within 5 minutes.
Distances
As mentioned, Barbados is 166 sq.miles. with many, many sites and activities taking place throughout the year. If you choose not to be, you will not be bored.
