Notes on accommodation
This a new property, fully air-conditioned throughout with luxury specification. Beautifully cool with Italian marble floors, pickled pine cathedral ceilings and a spacious feel. Due to it's elevated position (penthouse), it is not suitable for children under 12 years of age, nor for the elderly or infirm. Please note that smoking is not allowed anywhere in the apartment.

Accessibility
Unfortunately the character of the property does not lend itself to access for wheelchair users or the elderly. Although the penthouse is situated on only the second floor, there is no elevator on the premises, therefore this makes access inconvenient.
Outside
Leading from the living area is a large semi-shaded, outdoor terrace - just a stones throw away from the Caribbean Sea. This is the perfect place to chill. Here you can relax whilst sipping on a refreshing drink, gazing over the gently lapping aquamarine sea, the tropical breezes will soothe your soul. As this fabulous property is situated on the West Coast, as evening falls the sunsets will astound your senses - look for the famous Barbados 'green flash' - just as the sun dips below the horizon. Amazing! Not to be missed. If you are really lucky you may get the chance to see a turtle laying her eggs just below the terrace. Entry into the condominium building (12 units in total) is from the rear of the property, with secure gated parking should you wish to hire a car.
Coast/Beach
The beach could not be closer - perfect for snorkeling, swimming, and diving. The penthouse is situated just 100 metres from the fabulous 'Reefers and Wreckers' Dive Shop, one of Barbados's most established diving businesses. Please enquire for further details. The West coast is renowned for it's beautifully calm, crystal clear waters, yet a short ten minute ride will take you to the dramatic and rugged East coast, world class surfing awaits, or just simply absorb the breathtaking scenery.
Golf
There are several world renowned golf course on Barbados. Two of the most prestigious are close at hand: The Royal Westmorland a 10 minute drive away, and the famous 'Green Monkey' at the equally famous Sandy Lane Hotel, a 20 minute drive away.
Special interest holidays
The beautiful calm waters of the West Coast are the perfect backdrop for all types of water sports. There are several reefs and wrecks nearby perfect for exploring either diving or snorkeling. Further along the beach at White Sands you will find the opportunity to, jet ski, ski, take a fishing trip and even a trip to swim with and feed the local turtles.
Travel
Grantley Adams International Airport is approximately 45 mins drive away, the port of Bridgetown is around 20 mins. A hire car is not necessary, as all amenities are situated close at hand. Speightstown is second only to Bridgetown in size, and therefore has good infrastructure regarding public transport etc. Taxis are easily available and affordable. A trip on a local 'reggae bus' is a MUST- $1.50 BDs for any duration of trip. You could not wish for a better intro into Bajan life!
Distances
White Sands is ideally situated right on the edge of historic Speightstown. A two minute stroll will take you right into the heart of the town. All amenities are here, restaurants, banks, shops, supermarkets, internet cafes etc. Holetown with it's shops, world renowned restaurants etc. is a short 10 minute drive away. Several places of interest are within easy reach, including Harrisons Cave, Animal Flower Cave and Folkstone National Marine Park and of course the beautiful rugged East Coast.
Further details
White Sands is the perfect base for whatever type of vacation you require - it's romantic, idyllic setting is wonderful, but if you yearn for something else, all is easily accessible. Just a short stroll from White Sands takes you into the heart of historic Speightstown, with it's picturesque colonial buildings and characterful fisherman's pier. As any visitor to Barbados will be able to tell you, you will never find more welcoming and helpful people, always ready for a chat. Pop into a local rum shop for a game of 'slamming dominoes', a national pastime. Hang out at the Fisherman's Pub on Wednesdays evening for the live music session. Take a 3 minute taxi ride to a local fish fry at 'Moontown' (you won't find it on the map) so secret even some of the locals don't know! Try fresh grilled fish on the beach at sunset, nothing compares. This is the smaller event to the very well known Oistins fish fry (Fridays) - also a must visit event. If your tastes are more refined there are several world class restaurants in the nearby area - walking distance also.
Barbados is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, each with it's own diverse character, visit the nearby Folkstone Marine park for some amazing snorkeling. Take a drive through endless sugar plantations, visit old plantation houses, wildlife parks and underground caves.
If you fancy a flutter, the Garrison Savannah Racecourse hold meetings every Saturday, also there are several Polo clubs, open to all. Not forgetting cricket, which is of course everywhere! One thing is for sure, one visit to Barbados will never be enough.
Booking notes
A non-refundable deposit of 25% will be taken to secure a booking. A security deposit of £500 is required at the time of booking, refundable within 14 days of your departure should no damages/breakages have occurred. Balance payment will be due 8 weeks before your arrival. In the event of a booking cancellation penalties are: 7 weeks: 40% of total price refundable; 6 weeks: 30% of total price refundable; 5 weeks: 20% of total price refundable; 4 weeks and less: no refund due.
