Forest Hills Villa (Sleeps 4, 2 Bedrooms)

Forest Hills Villa (200m2). The main floor is open concept with high vaulted pine ceilings leading out to the marble floored elevated covered terrace. It features a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, dining table and an indoor lounge area with satellite TV and wireless high speed internet. The Master Bedroom has a king size bed and satellite TV and a sitting area with a desk, and convertible couch. There is a walk-in closet and en-suite bathroom, complete with marble countertops, double sinks a spacious stand-up shower and separate bathtub. The Cottage (50m2). The Cottage has a king size bed and full en-suite with spacious stand-up shower, marble countertops and dual sinks. It is a few meters away from the villa and has its own air conditioning, ceiling fan, satellite TV, coffee maker and mini-bar style fridge. The cottage has a walkout to a private sun deck with lounger and direct access to the Forest Hills pool area.

Notes on accommodation
All linen, including bath and beach towels, is provided. Serenity is one of only a handful of Villas at Royal Westmoreland to have central air conditioning throughout and high speed wireless internet. Its premier location also allows easy access to Forest Hills pool and the main clubhouse, golf, tennis and fitness facilities are only a few minutes walk away.

Outside
The Villa and The Cottage are both surrounded by private gardens, palm trees and distinct flora fauna native to Barbados. The main fully covered and cathedral roofed elevated terrace has a Weber barbecue, outdoor wine cooler and seating for 8 at 2 tables. The Forest Hills pool is only steps away and is for exclusive use of the handful of Forest Hills residents and their guests. It is surrounded by a lavish sun deck, loungers and tables and is accompanied by a separate kids pool. Royal Westmoreland itself is a secure, gated community consisting of multi-million dollar vacation homes, and is a sports lover's dream. The Resort features an 18 hole championship golf course voted as one of the world’s top 10, Har-tru tennis courts, swimming pools, a well equipped fitness centre and full service spa.

Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is on the West Coast by Colony Club, about 5 min drive down the hill, and is where beach facilities are provided for guests of Royal Westmoreland. Water sports are available directly on the beach from Colony Club hotel’s water sports facility. These are not included and should be paid for directly. A beach shuttle is provided in the winter season (15 Dec - 30 Apr) and operates four trips a day.

Golf
The golf course, which was designed by Robert Trent Jones Junior, opened in 1994. With so much space to play with, it has a leisurely feel - there is no sense driving through an alley of houses (and the houses don’t need protection on their windows, either) – and it is very attractive. The Caribbean Sea is visible from every hole. That said, the drives off the tees can be challenging. There are gulleys and occasionally the wind can take the ball. Rising off the Atlantic, the wind clambers over the ridge above Royal Westmoreland and then scuttles down across the course. Eventually another nine holes may be added to the golf course, but for the moment this is only on the drawing board. Over the years, Royal Westmoreland has hosted several high profile tournaments and featured in numerous glossy magazines with shots of all its illustrious visitors and players, from Hollywood stars, to royalty and many sports stars.

Special interest holidays
Guests at Royal Westmoreland have use of the 18 hole, 6870 yard, 72 par golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. Residential green fees are currently US$150 for 18 holes in the winter and $75 in the summer (the low season golf can also be packaged into accommodation rates). The course is kept so that it plays ‘hard and fast’, so the grounds men allow it to become dry, but of course the tees and greens in a sumptuous state. Private golf lessons are available.

Distances
Royal Westmoreland is a resort style setting, and the Villa are is a few minutes walk from the Club House. Off property, Holetown and the Royal Westmoreland beach club is about a five minute drive away. The Atlantic Ocean and its big waves and unrivalled beauty are about 30 minutes away. A car will be useful if you want to dine out at night or go sightseeing, but also when it comes to shopping for groceries. Our booking agent in Barbados can arrange a care hire if you so desire.
