Notes on accommodation
Especially good for family's, weddings and groups and diving parties. Wedding groups: bride and groom's families use each apartment and wedding ceremony takes place on the beach or in sugar mill at almond beach resort, which is at the bottom of the road. Reception can also be held there. Bride and groom then spend the next week at Almond Beach all inclusive resort for their honeymoon. Call for more information and help about your wedding plans.
Accessibility
Apartment 2 has a small step into entrance and out to patio, otherwise accessible.
Outside
Both apartments have large wooden tables and suitable chairs for the number of guests. There are 2 BBQ's available for use. Apartment 1 has a large balcony overlooking the pool and view out to sea. Table and 8 chairs easily fit with space to spare. Apartment 2 has a patio area next to the pool with French doors giving access to apartment.
Coast/Beach
The closest beaches are Almond and Heywood's 5 min walk from the villa. Almond beach is directly in front of Almond beach village all inclusive resort and is tree lined with sun loungers supplied for use. Heywood's beach is to the right of almond beach and between port St Charles. Heywood's beach is a lovely long, wide stretch of golden sandy beach which is very quiet and lined with palm trees. Just off the beach is a reef which is great for snorkeling for beginners.
Golf
Closest Golf Coarse ia a 9 hole at the end of the road on Almond Resort, open to public. Royal Westmoreland is 10 mins by car. Sandy Lane is 15 mins by car. Barbados Golf Club is 30 mins by car.

Guest comments
We arrived at Sunset Villa rather later than planned, but were given a very warm Bajan welcome from Wendy the Maid. The villa is very well fitted out with everything you could possibly want and all the furnishings and fixtures are to a high standard and the place was spotless. The location is in a quiet backwater and was very restful with no noise at night other than the tree frogs. Haywards Beach at Port St Charles is only a short walk away and in our opinion, this is one of the best swimming beaches on the island. Those who want a more active holiday would not be disappointed as there is plenty going on a short drive away, both night and day, down the coast at Holetown and Sandy Lane. Barbados has a tremendous amount to offer holiday makers both as couples or families and Sunset Villa is an ideal "home from home" to use as a base. - John and Margaret Cross (UK) Nov. 2011

Hi, we are Peter and Steph Coleman. We have 2 teenage daughters and live in Bedfordshire UK.
Barbados is our home from home, if only we could find the time to get out there more.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
When we first visited Barbados we fell in love with the island. Bajan's are the most friendly people we have met anywhere in the world. Our search for property had the following criteria. 1/A quiet location away from the normal tourist area. 2/As close as possible to one of the best beaches on the island. 3/ An area away from the busy coast road so our children would be safe. 4/ A property which could be renovated or converted to allow for a realistic rental price. 5/ Space for a nice dip pool to cool off from the bajan heat. 6/ Good transport links and close to the bus stop. 7/ A nice view of the sea wothout being on the beach. 8/ Less than 5 minutes walking distance to the beach. 9/ Near to the shops. After 3 visits we found the perfect property which met all of our criteria and more.
Unique benefits of the property
Peace and quiet. No noisy traffic. Hours of enjoyment can be had just sitting in the garden watching the Hummingbirds around the flowers. The Bats swoop down and drink from the pool at night. The Monkeys pass the back of the villa every morning on their trip down the ridge. Feeding the Peewitter birds which live on the telegraph pole next to the villa. Loads of local resturants to try out. Sitting on the balcony and watching the sun set on the west coast.
