Walking distance to Skeetes Bay and East Point Lighthouse. 5-10 minutes drive to beautiful beaches such as Bottom Bay, Long Bay, Harrismith Bay (Sam Lords) and Crane Beach. 5 mins walk to local bar and local shop. 15 mins drive to Six Roads, where there is a supermarket, bank with cash point, pharmacy, post office, petrol station and fast food outlets including childrens play area.

Notes on accommodation
The property is ideal for couples, groups or families. It has a fenced in garden providing plenty of privacy and ample room to play ball games. There is a large travel cot and high chair suitable for young children and a stairgate at the bottom of stairs to the outside upstairs patio. There are also 2 other stairgates, one on the back door and a mobile one that can be used on the side door or anywhere throughout the villa. The playroom has children's DVDs and a toybox, including colouring books and games. The garage has a dartboard and basketball net. A guest mobile phone is available making local and international calls much cheaper than using a UK mobile phone.
Outside
21ft pool, 1 uncovered patio area with wooden sun beds and 2 shaded patio areas with vaulted ceilings, all with sea views. Patio tables and chairs seating 8 people, portable barbecue and hammocks. Upstairs patio has panoramic view of the area/sea. Ideal place to spot monkeys playing in the trees in the early morning and at dusk. Large fenced garden with ample room to play ball games. Washing line.
Coast/Beach
Property is on the Atlantic coast. Skeetes Bay is within 5 mins walking distance across country with stunning sea views from East Point lighthouse, Culpepper Island and up the East Coast. 5-10 min drive to beautiful Bottom Bay, Long Bay, Harrismith Bay (Sam Lords) and Crane Beach. 20 min drive to Bathsheba on the East Coast 20 minutes drive to West Coast.
Golf
20 minutes drive to Barbados golf club, 25 minutes drive to Rockley Golf course - both public courses, where clubs can be hired.
Travel
Grantley Adams airport is 15 mins drive. Car hire is recommended, but there is a regular local bus service. Special discount arrangement with Stoutes Car Rental available.
Distances
20 mins drive to St Lawrence Gap on south coast. 20 mins drive to Bathsheba on east coast.
Further details
The gentle sea breezes keep the temperature cool at night and therefore air conditioning is not required. The property does have good quality ceiling fans in the bedrooms and lounge.

Mar 08-9/10 Villa larger than expected. The beds & sofas were very comfortable. The monkeys were a real treat!
May 08-It is a beautiful house & location and totally lived up to my expectations. It was one of the best holidays I have ever had. My only regret is that I had to come home!
Jul 08-Full Marks-We had a fabulous time and the house & location were everything we had hoped for and more. The facilities were 1st class and very comfortable. A true home from home. A very high standard compared to other places we have stayed in in the past. We would love to return to the house in the future and would certainly recommend it.

About the owner
We are Steve & Fiona Goodsell and we have one son, Scott, who is 9 years old. We live in North Hampshire but sometimes dream of moving to Barbados because of it's friendliness, slow pace of life and fabulous climate all year. We originally visited Barbados for our honeymoon in 1994 but could not resist returning time and time again. Steve runs his own Property Services Company and Fiona works part-time in HR. Whilst in Barbados, Steve enjoys watching a local cricket match, fishing off Skeetes Bay, or in the evening he can be found drinking rum and playing dominoes with the locals. Fiona's favourite day out is a visit to The Crane Hotel for lunch or relaxing at Bottom Bay/Crane Beach. Scott likes to play in the pool, go to the beach or sail on a catamaran and swim with the turtles.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We discovered the villa half built in 2005 and although we did not intend to take on a building project at that time, it was an opportunity not to be missed, as it was in an idyllic peaceful location and the internal layout was great. So we knew that this would be ideal place for us but also a place that guests would enjoy because of it's privacy and chance to experience the real Barbados including monkeys playing in the trees alongside the villa. A walk across country to Skeetes Bay has great views across Culpepper Island and up to East Point Lighthouse. The East Coast is on our doorstep and a short drive away is St John's church and the view from there over to Bathsheba is stunning. A visit to The Roundhouse in Bathsheba is not be missed and neither is the view from Cherry Tree Hill.
Unique benefits of the property
The outside space is quite large and the villa has 3 patios, 1 covered patio for dining, the 2nd is alongside the pool for sunbathing and the 3rd is upstairs and has panoramic views of the sea and the surrounding area or it is ideal for hiding away and having a sneaky siesta in one of the hammocks. The local shop is in walking distance across the field behind the villa so supplies are only a short walk away. The local bus stops at the end of the road & is always a way to see how local life operates. If the bus driver plays loud music, drives fast, gets off to visit a shop or calls in at his mums whilst on route, don't be surprised! We love sharing the villa with our guests and are really pleased that several guests have visited on more than one occasion.
