A very pretty, well equipped detached villa with private pool and landscaped gardens. Stunning cliff top location & beautiful Bottom Bay is just 250 yards away. The property is fully enclosed for your privacy & peace of mind; let the family splash in the pool whilst you relax in the patio area or side garden. All rooms have galleried ceilings which makes the villa light & airy - cliff top breezes keep you cool however hot it gets! St Philip is a peaceful location about 20 minutes drive to Miami beach, Oistins (for the famous Friday night fish fry) just five minutes from the Crane beach and hotel. Ideally placed for exploring the island at your own pace - we do recommend that you hire a car. Satellite TV, free WiFi/LAN internet access, DVD player, i-Pod player, books & games means that everyone has something to do & we provide all our guests with maps & island guides. Our on-site agent provides 24/7 contact for your stay on the island & we are very happy to answer any questions.

Notes on accommodation
Lovely location for a family holiday with extras included - pool toys, books and games, mobile phone, safe and monitored security system. Beach chairs and picnic coolers all add to the fun of a trip to the beach. There is a selection of novels, information on Barbados and local cookery books for the more adventurous guest and DVDs for adults and children.
We have added two new features in 2010 - a veranda in the side garden and cover over the drive. Both are breezy, shady places to sit with great sea views. Free WiFi Internet access is available just provide your own laptop.
A comfortable "home from home" with lots of thought given to the small details that will make your holiday truly memorable. All our previous guests recommend and have said that the villa was superbly equipped and located and much better than they expected. Our agents John and Jan live on-site and provide friendly support as you need it.
Accessibility
The villa has a level tiled floor with access to all rooms and large bathrooms on the same floor. Guests with reduced mobility will be able to use walkers or sticks and we have had a wheelchair user and someone recovering from a hip replacement use the villa. Please do ask us for more information.
Outside
Covered patio overlooking pool with private fenced and gated garden. Sunny pool is 21ft x 12ft x 4ft 6ins deep approx. is for your sole use and is cleaned twice a week. A large palm tree offers shade and you can pick your coconuts, too! There is a large lawned area, including a new veranda, so that the youngsters can stay out of the sun, to the side of the villa which is suitable for playing, BBQ or dining. Enjoy the Atlantic breezes as you relax in the landscaped gardens; you will see Humming Birds, Fire Flies, Whistling Frogs and lots of birdlife. After a day exploring the Island enjoy a view of the palm trees at Bottom Bay with a rum and coke and cool off with a dip in the pool. Lots of little "home from home" touches ensure your stay is relaxing and enjoyable.
Coast/Beach
Picturesque Bottom Bay is 250yards from the villa. There are many more to choose from just a few minutes drive away, including the Crane Beach, Hari Smith Bay & Miami Beach. Our personal favourite is Miami Beach (or Enterprise Beach as the locals call it) plenty of shade, picnic tables, lovely sandy beach on two sides. Snorkelling at Paynes Bay, fishing, surfing, kite boarding and diving are all available - details in information pack in the villa.

Travel
The Villa is 15 minutes drive from Grantley Adams airport where a hire car or taxi can be easily arranged. A hire car is recommended to enjoy the full benefit of the island.
Distances
The Villa is situated 20 minutes drive from Bridgetown and 15 -20 minutes from St Lawrence Gap where there is a wide selection of bars, restaurants and nightlife. Barbados has so much to see & do across the island - Sunbury Plantation, Museums, Gardens as well as Harrisons Cave for example. The scenic East Coast with Culpepper Island and Bathsheba Bay is less than ten minutes drive from your villa. Free map and Island guide when you book - please ask us if you have any questions.
Further details
Emerald City Shopping Centre is 10 minutes drive away and includes bank, cash point, pharmacy, supermarket, internet cafe, video hire, post office, petrol station and Chefette with children's play area. Its open every day from 8am to 10pm except on Sundays when it closes at 3pm. The supermarket is large and well stocked. There is a small local shop (Provigo) on the dog leg corner of Hari Smith Road,which is just two minutes drive from Allamanda. It's well stocked and you can also get fresh fruit and veg at the small kiosk next door. Super Bs can be found on Rendevous Hill at Christchurch, or Searjants Village next to the Sheraton Shopping Mall. You can visit the VIP Cinema at the Sheraton Centre, or enjoy the drive in experience close by!

Booking deposit of 25%, balance payable 6 weeks before departure. You can pay by cheque, bank transfer or PayPal (Please be aware that using paypal will add 3.5% to the cost). Our local agent will meet you at the villa on arrival.

About the owner
Rich and Helen are married with two grown up daughters and live in Hampshire in the UK. Originally from Wales, we moved to Hampshire 23 years ago and have been managing property in one form or another for the last fifteen years. We have also travelled widely ourselves and understand that quality in all aspects and attention to detail can make a huge difference to the success of a holiday. And that's pretty much our ethos for all our guests - allow you to relax and enjoy a first class experience in a home from home. A significant number of our previous visitors re-book and they all say the same thing: the villa is so much better than they expected and that we are underselling it! We prefer it that way round, call us if you have any questions; we'd love to chat!

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Barbados is such a friendly island and the weather is fantastic year round. Even if there is a rain shower, the sun soon comes out and that's a huge bonus when you live in the rainy UK! We saw the plot of land for sale in 2004 and were blown away by the location - typical tropical palm trees, sandy beach and amazing views. It's postcard perfect.
We wanted a quiet, peaceful location where we could get involved with the local community and get to know the real Barbados. Allamanda is very private, totally fenced off so you can enjoy the views, sunshine and pool in your own space.
We finished building in 2006 and have been successfully letting out the villa ever since. We get a buzz from the enjoyment our guests have and 100% said they would highly recommend Allamanda.
Unique benefits of the property
The Villa is 15 minutes from the airport, 15 minutes from the main shopping complex at Six Roads & well placed to explore the East Coast. The villa is on the edge of the Atlantic Rising development and easy to find.
Allamanda is superbly maintained, spotlessly clean and equipped to a very high standard (five star). Crisp linen on the beds, fluffy bathroom towels, comfy sofas in the lounge and new patio furniture.
We can arrange for a Bajan Chef for the day, babysitting, taxi services and welcome food parcels. We have a team on site 24/7 to meet and greet you and give as much (or as little!) help as you need.
We have never taken a damage deposit (we trust you) & do not charge extra for utilities - the price is the price! We'd love to hear from you on email or phone.
