Notes on accommodation
Probably the Island's most upscale development, reminiscent of Tobago's colonial past. Chaconia is one of the larger apartments (2,400sq ft.) and is extremely light and airy with views to three sides. This is a great adult get away - the hardest work is watching the fishermen most mornings pull in their nets (known locally as the Seine) in front of the property! Highchairs and cots available by special request.

Outside
The patio and well designed pool area with bridge and waterfall, overlook the beach, (pool depth from 1ft. to over 6ft.), sun loungers and shower area. The lush tropical plants are full of beautiful birds (including many humming birds). Gated access to the beach, with another shower nearby. Large sea facing balcony with full range of patio furniture to enjoy the amazing sunsets. Access to pool deck via own spiral staircase. Secure basement parking.

Coast/Beach
Grafton Beach is a beautiful Caribbean beach. Perfect for swimming beyond the surf line, the sand slopes gently into sea. There is good snorkelling around the nearby point and a padi dive centre further along the beach, along with a fantastic restaurant, bars and small craft shops. Depending on the time of your visit you may be able to see Leatherbacked Turtles nesting or hatching on the beach in front of the apartment.

Golf
Chaconia is close to 2 x 18 hole golf courses (both hire clubs). The nearest (approx 5 mins drive away) is Mount Irvine which was carved out of the site of an old plantation, green fees are from 48$US, golf buggies extra. The Plantation PGA golf course is 10 mins away and rates are from 85$US including shared buggie. The course runs adjacent to mangrove swamps and has spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Special interest holidays
Tobago is also home to the Caribbean’s largest (protected) rainforest and is ideal for hiking and bird watching. Flora and fauna is in abundance. Cycle hire is a good fitness option. Horse riding, snorkelling, scuba diving, game fishing, boat trips, sailing and most other water sports are also available.

Travel
Crown Point Airport is approx 15 mins drive away. The airlines flying directly to Tobago from the UK are BA, Virgin, Monarch, whilst Delta flies direct from Atlanta, USA. Alternatively you could fly direct to Trinidad or Barbados and connect with the local airline (starting from about 49$US return). Car hire is recommended and can be arranged. Driving is on the left and the few traffic lights to be found are marked on the maps! Fuel is cheap and Tobago is a beautiful island to explore by car.

Distances
The Island is about 25 miles long and roughly 5 miles wide so there are no great distances to get to places. Scarborough the capital, Crown Point and the Airport are 15-20 mins drive.
Shops, golf courses, restaurants and other resorts are all very easy to reach and within 5 - 30 mins drive.

Further details
Roadside stalls are a fun everyday experience for fruit and veg. You can also buy fresh fish (straight from the nets) from fishermen infront of the apartment as well as from fish vendors at the roadside wall at Mount Irvine Bay. There are local 'mini marts' a short walk away, but more choice can be found at local supermarkets such as Pennysavers (5 mins drive). There are many great restaurants nearby.

Booking notes
50% required on booking with the balance being due 4 weeks before apartment use. An additional £200 is required as a security deposit, refundable after vacating the apartment.
