The Villa was built for us in 2006 by a builder native to the Island who specialises in typical Canarian design. The rear garden is spacious with outdoor furniture shaded beneath an extensive recently added tiled pergola (see extra photo's). There are 6 sun loungers, a bar be que and an 8m x 3m pool with heat retaining cover plus 120 sq.m. roof terrace with panoramic mountain and coastal views. The villa is situated to the northwest in the village of Lajares. 30 minutes from the airport. Within walking distance we have 4 bar/restaurants, chemist, bakery, arts & crafts, play park, large modern supermarket, lively festival square and lovely people that help you to learn Spanish. El Cotillo with its stunning beaches, safe bathing lagoons and contrasting dramatic surfing waters, cleverly separated by the natural fishing harbour of El Cotillo, is just 7 minutes drive. The larger resort of Corralejo is just a 12 minutes drive both of which can be reached by local bus that passes every hour.

The living room (45 sq.m.) has a feature beamed ceiling, soft seating for 8, dining for 6, drinks cabinet and patio doors leading to front terrace with garden furniture to take in the morning sun. |

There is a lockable mop/broom cupboard with a stock of spare bulbs and step ladder if required where chemicals for the pool are also stored and therefore the key should be kept away from childrens reach. |

Notes on accommodation
The villa is designed with high ceilings and therefore offers a naturally acheived comfortable temperature and is further ventilated if required with ample windows on all sides that can be locked in various positions whilst the building is occupied. We would prefer that all windows and doors are securely closed and locked when leaving the building unoccupied. The doorways and hallways are quite spacious and being all on one level the villa will unless special grip/safety rails are required accommodate a wheelchair with the exception of the roof terrace. Both the pool and staircase to the roof terrace may be of concern to families with small children so careful consideration is recommended depending on the age of child.

Accessibility
No special adaptions have been carried out with view of mobility needs so careful consideration is required to decide whether the property suits your needs.
Outside
The front driveway is gated and will accommodate 4 cars, this leads to a large front garden, the front door, patio doors to both living room and studio room, the front terrace complete with outdoor furniture and extensive wooden pergola beneath which you can enjoy the mornings warming sunshine with your first cuppa of the day. To the side the drive complete with car port leads to the kitchen door, the private swimming pool, rear terrace with extensive newly built pergola, garden and drying area, rear door into laundry room and staircase to the 120sqm roof terrace with views over the village, the mountains and the western coastline of El Cotillo.
Coast/Beach
El Cotillo is just a 7 minute drive where to the north side of the marina/harbour you can enjoy the tranquillity and safety of luxurious sandy beaches and swim the crystal clear blue lagoons. Or for a more fun packed day surf or kite the dramatic and exciting waters to the south of the marina/harbour. To the northeast of the island the larger resort of Corralejo is a 12 minute drive, here you will find many more beaches and exciting activities. Both resorts can also be reached by local bus.
Golf
30 minutes drive south, at Caleta De Fuste.
Travel
The villa is a 30 minute drive from Fuerteventura Airport where we have an arrangement with a local car hire firm that will deliver a car to the airport for your collection if required, the rates are very reasonable and the firm are highly recomended.
Distances
Fuerteventura is about 100km from North to South and aprox 15km at the widest point, the driving is so easy its a pleasure. A car is highly recommended as there are endless atractions to visit the whole length of the island and can add such a bonus to your holiday.

Attractions to experience and within easy reach are: Topping up your tan at the beach, swimming, surfing, rambling, golfing, mountain biking, off road motorbiking, jeep safari, sailing, cruising, whale and dolphin spotting all manner of watersports like skiing, jet skiing, scuba diving, deep sea fishing with experienced skippers, horse riding camel riding, visiting the Zoo, bird park, water park, dolphin show, being entertained at the many live music bars at Corralejo Town Centre some of which offer the facility to dance or sing along or just sit with a cool drink and make new friends from around the world. Experiencing culenary delights from an array of different nationalities at the endless choice of restaurants, catching the ferry to Lanzarote to see the live volcano or just simply chilling out at the quieter Bar's of Lajares and El Cotillo.
