Villa Los Clavelles Number One is situated in a quiet exclusive part of San Agustin in the South of the island - adjacent to the heart of the holiday area of Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas (5 mins walk from the beach, supermarkets and shops and 5 mins by taxi from the Yumbo, Kasbah and Cita Centres) this delightfully furnished and freshly decorated spacious villa opens on to its own terrace with its newly modernised private swimming pool and terrace/BBQ with a view towards the sea. It consists of 3 large double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 en-suite, with a lounge, dining room and fully fitted kitchen. The lounge has a complete stereo and TV/video/DVD system with an extensive library of varied books, and a selection of CDs, videos and DVDs to suit a range of tastes including children (all in English!). Sleeps 6 comfortably but also features 2 double sofa beds in the lounge.

Notes on prices
The euro price is based on the exchange rate at time of reservation. Prices cover up to 6 people and are usually based on weekly bookings starting and ending on the regular changeover day-in practice usually Monday or Saturday. There is a supplement of £200 pw for more than 6 as well as Easter. Other public, half term holidays and carnival/Pride celebrations may be subject to a £100 pw surcharge.

Generally Monday or Saturday to Saturday to tie in with the majority of direct international flights. Check for further information and particular availabilities

Outside
Fully planted areas with delightful flowers, including buganvilla covering the walls, and plants/palm trees/cacti surround the terrace and barbecue/pool ares. The pool has a shallow and deep end and is fully usable all year round.
Coast/Beach
There are two beaches, San Agustin and Las Burras about 5 minutes walk from the house. The sand dunes at Maspalomas are 5 minutes by car or taxi. Other attractions include Holiday World Fairground, Water Park Aqua Sur, Go Karting, windsurfing, Sky diving, Perla Canaria, and all the bars and clubs of the Yumbo and Kasbah Centres - all 5 minutes by car or taxi.
Golf
The house is ideal for golfers, with the Maspalomas golf course and the Melonares golf course less than 5 minutes drive. The golf course at Salobre is about a 7 minute drive or taxi ride. There are other golf courses within a short drive at Bandama, El Cortijo and Tauro. Maspalomas, Melonares, Tauro, Bandana and El Cortifo are to international tournament standard.
Travel
Las Palmas airport. The villa is 15 mins drive from the airport. Transfers to and from the airport by arrangement.

About the owner
I live mainly in London where I retired a few years ago from a successful career in music. In my spare time I am a postgraduate student in literature and drama at Kings College, University of London, as well as having various business interests. Aged 56 I have been an enthusiastic visitor to Gran Canaria for thirty years. I own two properties - my first was Villa Los Clavelles Number One C94 where I based myself between 2001 and 2007. In 2007 I purchased a second house Villa Paraiso Golf C1573, due to the popularity of guest rentals at Los Clavelles! Both are now available to rent throughout the year. I still love to stay in both houses which are distinctive in their own locations and character but equally beautiful and comfortable.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
I bought this property as my dream holiday home in September 2001. It was brand new, private and located close to the beaches and shopping centre of San Agustin as well as having a terrace affording a spectacular view towards the sea. It is in a quiet and very up market semi rural area and yet all the holiday attractions of central Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas are 5 minutes away. I spent many happy holidays there
and my 80 + year old parents so loved it - they moved to the island ! It was always perfect for family gatherings and has hosted many happy personal occasions - it has proved so popular with visitors that it has been virtually sold out for the last 4 years necessitating my purchasing a second house for myself ! It has a staff who ensure it remains in mint condition.
