Casa Amanecer (House of the Rising Sun). Enjoy the superb quality of light and air at this luxurious new 3 bedroom 2 bathroom villa, which is situated in the lovely residential area of Costa Papagayo in Playa Blanca. It is a 15 minute stroll or 2 minute drive to the resort's best beach (Dorada Beach). The village centre is a 3 minute drive or a 20 minute stroll away and the magnificent new marina is the same distance in the other direction. The villa is built in the traditional Lanzarote Finca style, designed for outdoor life, featuring a very large south facing patio and garden, with its own electrically heated 7x3m pool. From the patio there are wonderful mountain views, from behind which the sun rises at dawn and upon which the late evening sun shines casting beautiful shadows and colours. The patio is well sheltered on windy days, and there is a large pergola and mobile umbrella, offering shade for those that need it. The garden is well stocked with tropical plants.

Notes on prices
Price in UK pounds per week (4 persons). Surcharge of £50 per week for peak periods other than Christmas and New year (£100 per week). At all times there will be a higher rental for additional occupancy of £50, for 5 or 6 sharing (same extra rental cost whether it is for 5 or 6 people). £50 extra charge for cleaning if 3rd bedroom is used for a party of 4 or less (covering extra cleaning + laundry costs). Small discounts considered for bookings within 1 week of departure.

Changeover day
Thursdays at peak times. Flexible at other times. The villa is available from 3pm on arrival, and must be vacated by 10am on departure day. If nobody has departed on your arrival day or if nobody is coming in after you, there may be some flexibility.

Accommodation
Bedrooms: All 3 bedrooms have 2 single beds with duvets, large double wardrobes with half hanging and half shelves. Each bedroom has a fan. Main bedroom with safe and leads to patio via double French doors. En-suite bathroom off main bedroom.
Bathrooms: En-suite bathroom off main bedroom with bath, shower and showerlux screen. Granite tops with twin basins, large mirror and WC.
The second bathroom contains a shower with Showerlux cubicle, WC and basin with large mirror.
Kitchen: New modern kitchen, fan oven. 4 ringed halogen hob,microwave oven, large integral fridge, large integral freezer, toaster, extremely well equipped with utensils, crockery, glasses and plastic poolside tumblers.
Utility Room: Separate covered utility room leading off kitchen. Washing machine and clothes line. Separate clothes horse which can be taken outside.
Living Rooms: Spacious lounge leading from kitchen and out onto the patio via double French doors. Contains 2 large sofas (no sofa beds). Large rustic wall unit and matching TV cabinet which houses TV DVD player and HiFi unit. Also several occasional tables.
Other: Separate large dining room with teak table and chairs, accessed via an archway from the kitchen and it also leads out onto the patio via double French doors.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
All bed linen, towels and table cloths are provided. Towels are changed mid week by housekeeper who lives next door. For 2 week stays towels are also changed along with the sheets after 1 week. Beach and pool towels are not provided.

Notes on accommodation
The villa is airy and spacious. Fans are provided in each bedroom for additional comfort. The pool is obviously unsupervised and therefore its suitability for young children has to be judged by the parents.
Cots and highchairs can be made available at a small extra cost (paid for locally).

Accessibility
A wheelchair has been used in the villa, but only by a person who was able to walk with assistance into the bathrooms. The villa is not suitable for someone totally confined to a wheelchair. If in doubt please discuss with us.

Outside
The rear garden, pool and patio area is totally walled off, private and secured by a lockable side gate. With the gate locked children cannot get out and wander. The magnificent split level south facing patio with mountain views is totally private. It has its own electrically heated (on request) 7x3m pool which is covered and is 1.6m deep throughout. There is a life ring adjacent to the pool. The garden areas are well stocked with tropical plants and for this reason we request that no ball games are played on the patio. On the patio there are 6 sunbeds and a patio table and 6 chairs. There is a built-in pergola and large mobile umbrella offering shade for those who require it. There is a Lanzarote style BBQ on the patio.

Coast/Beach
The nicest, safest golden sandy beach with excellent facilities, including a bar/restaurant is Dorada Beach. This is our local beach and is a 2 min drive or a 15 min stroll from the villa. The beautiful Papagayo beaches (minimal facilities) are a 10-15 min drive away.

Golf
Although Lanzarote has had a golf course for nearly 30 years, it has not been well known for the sport. With a number of new courses in the pipeline and an enviable year round climate, that is about to change. The dry climate in Lanzarote does not naturally lend itself to the creation of lush green golf-courses. The advent of de-salination plants, which produce abundant water straight from the Atlantic means that it is now, possible to produce the rich growth of grass needed for a top-class course. This important fact, coupled to the desire of the Cabildo to take tourism much more upmarket in Lanzarote, has allowed for additional golf courses to be planned and constructed. New Lanzarote Golf Courses in construction. There are a number of new golf courses in the planning or construction stages. Puerto del Carmen Golf course - the most advanced is the course just outside of Puerto del Carmen on the road to Tias.

Special interest holidays
There is a lot of surfing on Famara beach in the north west of the island. There is also a lot of wind and kite surfing on the north east coast north of Arrecife. There are several dive centres on the island. The best we are told is the one in Puerto Calero (the only one to have its own changing and shower facilities).

Travel
Arrecife airport is situated just south of Arrecife. Personally we advise car hire, but several guests have not done so and have had a magnificent holiday. The villa is an easy 20 - 30 min drive from the airport. We are usually at the villa within 1 hour of landing.
AIRPORT PICKUP AVAILABLE: For those not wishing to hire a car a friend offers a collection and return from the airport at 30 euros each way (for up 2 four people). Two cars are available for larger parties.

Distances
When we first visited Playa Blanca in 1988 it was still a quaint fishing village. It has retained much of its charm and character during its development into a holiday resort. Casa Amanecer is a 3 min drive or a 20 min stroll from the village and its waterfront restaurants. It is the same distance in the other direction to the new marina with all its boutiques and restaurants.

Further details
There are many large supermarkets stocking virtually anything which you could buy at home. There is a huge choice of multicultural restaurants from which to choose. There is an excellent 5 mile coastal walkway going in both directions from the village. From this there are wonderful views of the islands of Lobos and Fuerteventura. We have an information pack in the villa outlining places of interest worth visiting. In this there are also some details of excellent walks for those interested.

Booking notes
Following an enquiry we will contact you by phone, answer any further questions you may have, and arrange to email you further photos. Once you decide to proceed with the booking we will require a deposit of £100 per week, with the balance due 8 weeks before the departure date. We also collect at that time a £100 security deposit returnable within 14 days of return if no damage has been incurred.
