Altamira sits at the edge of the coastline with palmtrees surrounding the pools. You are sure to enjoy your stay here. Why not walk along the promenade to La Caleta, the next village, famous for its fresh fish restaurants, or around the headland to Fanabe, with restaurants and shops for all tastes and budgets. Or enjoy Altamira's restaurant or the tavernas and snack bars opposite. Whatever your requirements, nothing is too far away, with the lively resort of Playa de las Americas only a 10 minute taxi drive. There are water sports on the beach, a Water Park and excellent golf courses in the area. To go up Mount Teide is to go to another world. The Masca experience is unforgettable with the most awe-inspiring scenery on the walk down to the sea, then back by boat when you may see dolphins! Spoilt for choice on the 'Island of eternal Spring'.

Changeover day
Changeover day is flexible - look for the best flights from your area! Please aim to leave by 11am and arrive from 4pm. If required, there is a large locked luggage room for guests on the 4th floor - ask reception.

Notes on accommodation
24 hour reception. Safe deposit, wi fi and internet access (1euro for 10 minutes), car hire and money exchange in reception. Three lifts to all floors.
Outside
Suitable for families with children as there is a separate child's pool (children are made welcome everywhere) besides the two deeper pools one of which is heated in winter, and is also not as deep as the other. Pools are in a lovely garden area, so that you can have shade from the trees if you like, and more privacy in little groups rather than everyone in a row on the poolside. Cafe on site, and excellent choice of tavernas and restaurants opposite. Table tennis and pool tables available. Also residents lounge with library.
Coast/Beach
2 mins walk to the beach. Leisure activities can be enjoyed in Tenerife all year round due to its sunny climate and pleasant temperature. Sporting facilities close by are para-gliding, wind-surfing, sailing, surfing, water-skiing, fishing, scuba-diving, whale and dolphin watching, swimming, cycling, golfing, jogging, go-karting, walking and roller-blading. The beautiful del Duque beach is only 100 yards away. The aqua park and adventure parks are within easy access.
Golf
Golf tourism in Tenerife is vibrant. There are 7 golf courses open for play. Costa Adeje is the closest, but Golf las Americas, Golf del Sur, Amarilla Golf and Los Palmos (a 9 hole par 3 course) all easily accessible. To the north of the island, there are 2 further courses, in addition to one on the neighbouring island of La Gomera.
Travel
The nearest airport is Reina Sofia, Tenerife South. Car hire is easy but not essential as taxis are reasonable and there is public transport as well. Distance from the airport approx 20 mins by car. Detailed directions are available upon booking.
Distances
Santa Cruz is about 80km away in the north of the Island and is the cosmopolitan capital of Tenerife. Playa de las Americas, with its vibrant night life is 10 mins away by taxi.
Further details
Two supermarkets with freshly baked bread and good selection of beach accessories etc are just across the car park. Also here are tavernas and cafes - one of which sells chicken and chips with salad to eat in or take out (to the beach).

Fantastic holidays in the past at Altamira, gave us the impetus to purchase our own apartment there. We feel the position is perfect, and several families, who agree with us, have returned regularly. Please e-mail or telephone to book. 40% deposit payable within 7 days of booking and balance due 6 weeks before travelling.

many-many-many thanks for the marvellous and memorable holidays.
In your apartment at Altamira we did find everything what we needed. We have bought 8 kg of Spanish oranges and made a juice by the squeezer every morning. We ate many papayas, nectarines, grapes and peaches as well.
Altamira has a genial location within “in-front” hotels, because there is a peaceful area and the most beautiful plague Del Duque nearby. Doubly expensive Riu Palace and Sheraton do not have any plague. We would like to go to Tenerife next year - to Altamira apartment 341 definitely J Aug 2011
