Located above the picturesque town of Garachico, this quaint cottage offers breathtaking panoramic views over the Atlantic Ocean. Located just below the village of El Tanque, you will be overwhelmed by the dramatic view over Tenerife’s northern coast and the wide expanse of the majestic Atlantic. The house is located in a cul-de-suc in a very quiet area and is close to the town of Icod de los Vinos with its famous Dragon Tree.

Changeover day
There are no fixed change-over days. We will accept bookings for an odd number of days.

Notes on accommodation
The house features solar-powered central heating and warmwater. Not suitable for wheelchairs.
Outside
There is a large terrace to the front with high quality wooden garden furniture, a large parasol and three sun loungers. At the rear, with direct access from the kitchen, there is another large, protected terrace also with stunning views, outdoor furniture and a custom-made barbeque.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is Garachico (pebble beach), just a 10 minute drive. There is also a series of attractively landscaped rock pools offering safe swimming. The safe beach of San Marcos is a 20 minute drive away. It features full facilities and year-round swimming.
Golf
The nearest golf course is Buenavista Golf Club (about 30 minutes by car). This spectacular course was designed by Severiano Ballesteros and opened in 2004. Built along the rugged Atlantic coast it is a true challenge. Lush fairways, several water hazards, beautifully landscaped cakti and palm beds and well crafted, undulating greens make this course a very special golfing experience. Golf clubs (1 RH mens set, 1 RH ladies set) available for a small rental charge (£10 per set).
Travel
From the northern airport, Los Rodeos, it takes a 45 minute drive to reach Casa Rustica. From the more popular airport, Sofia Reina, in the South you'll take about one hour and 15 minutes. A car is essential.
Distances
Puerto de la Cruz is about 20 miles away, the capital Santa Cruz about 35 miles. To Los Gigantes, Tenerife's sunniest spot, it takes about 35 minutes.
Further details
El Tanque has many smaller shops including five small supermarkets, several very good restaurants, four banks with cash dispensers and a petrol station.

To secure a booking, a 20% deposit is required. The balance is due no later than 4 weeks prior to the start of the holidays.

Our stay at Casa Rustica in December was a great experience. We felt very much at home at this cosy villa. We would especially like to mention the large and well equipped kitchen. It had everything we needed. Also the two terraces with their magnificent views are delightful. Casa Rustica was an ideal location as a base for our walks. For our next holiday Casa Rustica will be our preferred choice.

Casa Rustica is a lovely house, very comfortable and well equipped. Liz made us feel very welcome and was very informative and helpful. Weather and island both fantastic. Restaurant St Augustin y Rosa in Icod excellent local (Canarian) food and value for money. Try the rabbit. We hope to return.

I am Anne Habbe and live in Bad Malente in Germany. My husband and I have been holidaying on Tenerife since 2001 and have really fallen in love with the island.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We purchased Casa Rustica in 2004 because we had fallen in love with the North Tenerife area. For us as avid walkers and outdoor people the area had just so much to offer. It is an ideal hide away because of its rural location and the perfect place to relax yet close enough to towns and shops.
Unique benefits of the property
Casa Rustica is an ideal starting point for walks, hikes, island trips or just to relax on the large terraces with their spectacular view. We stay at Casa Rustica frequently ourselves which is why we have fitted out the house for our own needs. My hysband has to keep in touch with his work. For that reason we have installed a wifi connection which is available for our guests free of charge.
