These three adjacent apartments directly overlook the sensational Jandia beach, at the western end of a clean sandy coastline running north easterly for about 22km. You can prove this by walking the shore all the way! Activities abound, marine based and otherwise. There is good surf and the wind surfing world championships are held at Sotavento Playa, along this coastline. There are many shops, bars and restaurants close to the apartments and in the concourse below. Cash machines are also around. For eating in, there is a supermarket in the concourse beneath the apartments, together with a private medical clinic nearby. Shoppers: Fuerteventura is duty free! The climate is "desert"; summers are hot and dry; winters are warm with a little rain, a bit like a good English September. There is thus an all year round letting season and the rent for these apartments is the same, whatever climate you prefer.

Accessibility
There wheelchair access to the apartments and throughout the complex, as well as in the concourse below. The pavement outside is level except for some steps to the side of the entrance, with a slope to the side provided for wheelchair users, buggies etc.
The route to the beach is surfaced and level, so even beach access is possible by wheelchair, subject to mobility on the beach sand itself.
You can hire a car from the airport or locally to explore the whole island (4x4 recommended!)

Outside
Palm Garden has communal swimming and toddler pool with sun loungers and a restaurant by the pool. There is a bar and games room with table tennis, billiards and ice game.
The lobby has internet access and public phones.
At street level is a row of shops, cafes, and restaurants as choose from. The supermarket and medical centres are also very near.
The fishing village of Morro Jable is about 20 minutes' walk away. There is a harbour there and plenty of "non tourist" shops. The waterfront also boasts a lovely series of restaurants. Local food is fantastic! It has banks, post office and police station, plus big supermarket and laundrette.

Coast/Beach
The (start of the) beach is just a short 200m walk from your apartment building. Loungers and sunshades can be hired at regular intervals along the beaches, where there are also occasional laid back beach bars, playing mostly Spanish music with a wide range of freshly prepared meals, ices and refreshments, alcoholic and otherwise, at fair prices.
Their snacks are very enticing, including Gambas al Aquillo (sizzling prawns in garlic) and mejillones (mussels), which dwarf British mussels.

Golf
There are several golf courses on Fuerteventura and more in the making, including one in Jandia. Not being a golfer myself, I cannot comment specifically but you would need to hire transport to reach a golf course, or some of them, if you want a choice of courses. Plans are afoot to make Fuerteventura a golfing holiday centre.

Special interest holidays
The beach is ideal for windsurfing and kite surfing and there are surf and diving schools very near. Other activities available include fishing, diving, sailing, tennis, golf, boat trips, visits to other islands by ferry, cycling, camel riding, mountain biking, trike biking, motocross biking, jet-ski, botanical gardens, animal park and walking. Fuerteventura has a peaceful volcanic landscape.

Travel
We can help arrange transfers for you each way or you can hire your own. The road from the airport is modern. A taxi ride from the airport will cost about 70 euros and take about 50 minutes. You can alternatively take a number 10 bus for 7.40 euros, which is a comfortable ride. The bus stops directly opposite Palm Garden.
You can hire a car, either at the airport or at your destination. If you want to explore the island you would probably do better to hire a car than to go on organised trips.

Distances
Morro Jable is the nearest town. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to, along the beach or along the promenade. you can alternatively take a short taxi or bus ride to get there. It is a living village with good restaurants along the waterfront. It has banks, post office and police station, plus big (Spar) supermarket and laundry, and much more!

Further details
There is a supermarket a couple of doors down from the entrance to Palm Garden. Private medical facilities are also close. It would be wise to take out medical insurance as these can prove expensive. Public medical facilites are not well developed on this part of the island, at least.
There are some excellent restaurants, especially La Casa in Morro Jable and (the best) the Maribu at Esquinzo, a couple of miles down the coast, but more than worth the effort!

Booking notes
Please restrict smoking to the balconies. The caretakers will have thoroughly cleaned your apartment before your arrival and made up the beds etc. Linen is changed once a week.
Deposit of £100 (150 Euros) is payable on booking, with the balance due 6 weeks before arrival. Please contact the owners personally on any of the contact details given if you have any questions at all, or would like to stay here.
