Bijou one bedroom apartment on 5th floor of elegant building right by the beach (Playa Jardin). Large terrace with sea and mountain views. Indoor gardens, 2 lifts, shared 25m outdoor pool (with numerous sunbeds and parasols), 2 smaller pools, palm garden and tennis court. 2 minutes walk to the beach, 5 minutes walk to the market and bus station and 15 minutes walk to town centre. Easy access, 20 minutes by car from Los Rodeos North airport or 70 minutes from Reina Sofia south airport. We can help arrange transport. Lively town centre of Puerto de la Cruz has many excellent restaurants and bars as well as a pedestrian shopping district and beautiful town square where you can dance to guitar music every evening. There is a small harbour, so fresh fish is plentiful and delicious. Wi-fi is available on weekdays 8.00 to 16.00 in the foyer. There is an internet cafe 5 minutes walk from the building.

Changeover day
The usual changeover day is Saturday, but this is flexible. Arrival time is 2pm and departure is 11am but this is also flexible if there are no other guests immediately before or after your visit.

Bedrooms: Bedroom with twin beds and lots of wardrobe space. Views of palm trees and mountains through French doors to the terrace.
Bathrooms: Spacious bathroom with large modern shower, WC, bidet, wash basin and washing machine. Hair dryer available.
Kitchen: Kitchen with large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, hob, oven and microwave, iron and ironing board, electric kettle and toaster, of course.
Living Rooms: Lounge with double sofa bed, English T.V. (4 main channels), DVD, French doors to terrace and views of the sea and mountains.
Other: Large covered terrace with table, 4 chairs and clothes drying rack, but best of all beautiful views of the sea, banana groves, palm trees and Teide mountain.

Heating rarely required, but oil radiator in lounge. Standing fan available for summer months.

Outside
There is a palm garden by the large shared 25metreoutdoor pool, plus two smaller pools, one for children, the other about 8 metres long and 60 cms deep. There are large numbers of sun loungers and parasols. There is also a tennis court.

Coast/Beach
2 minutes walk from the beach and promenade with gardens and waterfalls.

Travel
Los Rodeos Northern airport is 20 minutes car ride away. The Southern airport Reina Sofia is 70 minutes away by car. We can help arrange transport.

Distances
Puerto de la Cruz town centre is 10-15 minutes walk. The bus station is 7 minutes walk away. The lovely town of Orotava is a short bus ride and you can even catch a bus to the Teide volcano, or there are numerous excursions available, including boat trips from Los Cristianos or Los Gigantes (both about 90 minutes drive) to see dolphins and whales.

Further details
The famous Loro Parque (Parrot Park) with its parrot shows, aquarium, dolphin and whale spectacles and the underwater tunnel is only 7 minutes walk from the flat.

Booking notes
To reserve the flat a deposit of 25% of the total price is requested.
The balance is payable one month before arrival.
There is also a fully refundable deposit of 30 euros payable in respect of the swimming pool key, which is precious and very difficult to replace.

My wife and I were at the apartment for two weeks in October, 2010. we can say without reservation that it was the best self-catering apartment we have ever stayed in - and we are in our 60s with quite a bit of S/C experience. The west-facing balcony was terrific with some spectacular sunsets. All the modern facilities were there. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of room. The pool was well used and very welcome. In all an excellent holiday in an excellent apartment.

About the owner
I live in London with my husband, but we spend as long as we can, during the winter months, in his flat in the hills above Puerto de la Cruz in Tenerife. My apartment is very near the sea and occasionally we stay there for 2 or 3 nights when there are no bookings. The apartment has one bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom and a beautiful large terrace with views of the sea and the mountains. There is a large outdoor swimming pool, a palm tree garden and a tennis court. It is only 20 minutes drive from Los Rodeos airport or 70 minutes from Reina Sofia. The beach is 2 minutes walk and the lively centre of town is 10 minutes walk. The flat is fully furnished and has a washing machine and dishwasher. Beach towels are provided. There are parasols and numerous sunbeds by the pool.
