This is our beachside holiday home that is enormously popular with couples who enjoy the peace and tranquility of this most favoured location in Lanzarote. Whilst we recommend having a hire car, it is not essential as all amenities are within walking distance and Playa Blanca village is a delightful stroll along the coastal promenade, about 1/2 mile away. Taxis are available to go to/from the airport that is only 30 minutes away. This is a 'No Smoking' villa.

Notes on accommodation
Our property is ideal for a couple or single person who want to get away from it all. There are shutters at the windows to aid ventilation and security together with pull-down mosquito nets; a ceiling fan in the bedroom; free-standing fan for the living room and a heater for the odd chilly winter evening. Access from the road (about 100 yards) is level but there are four shallow steps, with hand-rail, up to our entrance gate.
This is a 'No Smoking' villa.
Outside
Our property has a high and lockable entrance gate that opens to the private south-facing and partly covered sun terrace. It enjoys all-day sunshine and there are excellent sea views across to the island of Fuertaventura. There are two adjustable sun loungers, dining table & chairs and barbeque. The wide, tinted glass double doors can be opened into the lounge to create a larger inside/outside area if required. Two swimming pools, (one heated) are a few minutes walk and the sandy beach is literally 50 paces away.
Coast/Beach
We are privileged to be situated at Playa Flamingo by what is regarded to be one of the best sandy beaches on Lanzarote that provides a normally safe and tranquil place for all age groups to swim all year round. Further afield there is the Playa Dorada beach on the other side of the village, the fabulous, but remote beaches of Papagayo are about a 15 minute drive and the wild Famara beach is on the west coast.
Golf
Lanzarote has one golf course situated at Costa Tequise, about a 45 minute drive. It is a challenging 18-hole course, made more difficult by the changeable winds that blow down between the volcanos. Lost balls are a reality here!! Clubs, trolleys and buggies can be hired and the '19th' provides good food and refreshment. Not the cheapest round of golf but certainly worth it. Best to book and details are included in our information pack.
Special interest holidays
Whilst we do not provide special activities ourselves, Lanzarote has all manner of fascinating places of interest to visit that will cater for everyone. You can research before you go by visting the website - www. lanzarote.com or visit the information points on the island.
Travel
Playa Blanca is situated at the southern end of the island but only about a 30 minute drive from Arrecife airport. Whilst a hire car is much cheaper than the mainland, you can take a taxi to & from the airport and most everyday amenities are on the spot at Playa Flamingo. However, please do not foresake the sight-seeing opportunities that the island has to offer and whilst there are organised trips from the local hotels, a car enables you to get up and go if the weather lets you down.
Distances
Playa Blanca village is about 1/2 mile away and you can walk there along the coastal promenade that passes through the port, where you can take the fast ferry across to Fuertaventura in less than 30 minutes. The promenade continues through the village and has a variety of restaurants along it's length. Elsewhere in Playa Blanca you will find a modern pedestrianised shoppping area, banks, bars and restaurants, a taxi rank, doctors, pharmacists, etc. However, it does not cater for wild night life!
Further details
The island is quite small and you can drive to the north in about an hour but you must take time to stop off along the way to enjoy Lanzarote's varied natural attractions including the sensational volcanic Timanfaya National Park; the Geria vineyard area; the old farming museum at Tiagua and Tequise old town (with it's famous Sunday market). Take the delightful drive through Haria and the valley of the thousand palm trees to Mirador del Rio at the northern tip to enjoy the most spectacular view across to the island of Graciosa. On your return, visit the caves at Jameos del Aqua; the cactus garden; Cesar Manrique's spectacular volcanic home & art gallery and finish off with a drink and meal at one of the fabulous marinas at Puerto Calero, or nearer home at Puerto Rubicon in Playa Blanca. Enjoy!!
