Casa de Fortuna is a new luxury 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom villa in Faro Park, Playa Blanca. It was completed in the Spring of 2004 and is situated very close to the coast. There is a car parking space to the side of the property. It is ideal for families who are looking for a really relaxing holiday and offers the tranquillity that is not readily found in the built-up established tourist resorts such as Puerto del Carmen and Costa Teguise. Fully furnished and equipped to a very high standard, the interior of the villa offers classic Spanish architecture with its combination of granite and marble tiling throughout, providing stunning results and a cool airy feeling. The villa is fitted with charming shutters with integral mosquito nets that guarantee a peaceful night's sleep! The heated pool is set in a large sun terrace with four luxurious sun loungers. There is a shaded dining area and another teak table and chairs overlooking the swimming pool and beautiful garden.

Notes on prices
Prices shown are for the property per week in UK Pounds based on 2 people sharing. For each additional person please add an extra £50 per person. The 5th person will only be charged an extra £30 for use of a high quality 'Z'-bed. Please note that there is no charge for children under the age of 5. Discounts will be considered for long Winter lets.
Changeover day
Changeover day is flexible but most UK flights arrive and leave Lanzarote on a Thursday which is a preferred changeover day. Check-in time is 2pm and checkout time is 10am. A complimentary 'Welcome Pack' including wine and other essentials is provided.
| Bedrooms: | The main bedroom has a king size bed and is en suite with bath and shower. The second bedroom has two single beds with room for the quality 'Z'-bed. Both bedrooms have spacious built-in wardrobes. |
| Bathrooms: | There is an en suite bathroom to the main bedroom with bath/shower over, basin and toilet. The second bathroom has a large, marble tiled walk-in shower, basin and toilet. There is a safe in the second bathroom for your passports and all your valuables. |
| Kitchen: | The modern kitchen is fully-equipped with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, oven with ceramic hobs, microwave, toaster and kettle, etc. |
| Utility Room: | There is a separate utility room with washing machine and airer. |
| Living Rooms: | The generously proportioned lounge area has 2 leather sofas, coffee table, side table and is equipped with Satellite TV - Sky Freeview inc. ITV, video, DVD and hi-fi, making it a lovely area to relax in. There is also a breakfast bar with bar stools. |
| Other: | There is a lovely outside, shaded dining area with a large teak table overlooking the garden. A BBQ is also provided for your use. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
All towels and bed linen are provided. (Beach towels are not provided). Bedlinen is changed weekly and towels are changed mid-weekly and weekly. The villa is cleaned each week and a midweek clean can be provided at a small additional charge. |
Notes on accommodation
We have provided a high quality heater for warming up the rooms if necessary during the cooler winter months and 2 portable fans for the hottest summer months. A small children's table and chairs is provided for the younger guests should it be needed along with a selection of toys, books and games. Any additional baby/young children's equipment can be hired at a small additional charge. A hair drier is also there for your use.

Outside
The villa has its own private heated swimming pool set in a lovely, large, tiled sun terrace. It measures approximately 8m x 4m and is around 1.7m deep in the centre. Access to the pool is via roman steps. There is a solar pool cover which helps to maintain the temperature of the water. The pool is serviced twice a week to ensure that the water is always in peak condition and it has the benefit of underwater lighting for that warm swim at dusk while the BBQ slowly cooks your evening meal. You have the choice of either eating at the large outside dining table or at the teak table overlooking the swimming pool. The villa has been fitted with charming shutters with integral mosquito nets. This means that you can enjoy the beauty of the very well-stocked garden before retiring for a cool and peaceful nights sleep.
Coast/Beach
The rugged coastline is only 2 minutes walk from our villa and there is a block-paved path which goes right round the coastline. The nearest beach, Playa Flamingo, is about 2kms away and can be reached either on foot or by car. Playa Blanca's local beach, Playa Dorada, is about 5 minutes drive away and then there are the beautiful Papagayo beaches which are within 15 minutes drive. There is plenty of opportunity for safe swimming and snorkelling. Diving and water sports are also possible.
Golf
There is an 18 hole golf course which opened in July 2008 in Puerto del Carmen and another full course in Costa Teguise. A third golf course is due to be built in Puerto Calero and ultimately, a fourth in Playa Blanca.
Travel
The airport at Arrecife is only 30 minutes drive away from our villa and we will send you detailed instructions as to how to arrive at our villa from the airport. The use of a hired car is recommended as there is so much to see in Lanzarote and the roads are excellent to drive on. We can put you in touch with a very good car hire company that we use ourselves each time we come to Lanzarote.
Distances
Playa Blanca with its fine restaurants and shops is only 5 minutes drive away from our villa and Puerto del Carmen, which has a busy nightlife, if you wish, is only about 15 minutes drive away. Timanfaya National Park is also about 30 minutes by car and to travel from the south of the island to the north would probably only take you about 90 minutes.
Further details
There is a lovely little parade of shops which is only 2 minutes walk from the villa. There are 2 supermarkets which will provide you with all the day-to-day essentials, a Chinese restaurant, 2 coffee bars, hairdresser and a local bar. The nearest bank is only 5 minutes drive in Playa Blanca. Just up the road there is the Rubicon Palace Hotel which welcomes non-resident guests and there the food is excellent and the entertainment afterwards is high quality and free. The new Marina Rubicon is bursting with lovely restaurants and shops and there are some fine boats to admire whilst you sit and relax at the waters edge.
Booking notes
There is a booking deposit of 40%, which is non-refundable in the case of cancellation. If there are 8 weeks or less to the start of the holiday, payment must be made in full, plus a £100 damage liability bond which is refundable upon your return. If there are more than 8 weeks to the start of the holiday, payment of the 40% deposit must be made. The balance of the payment plus the £100 damage liability bond must then be paid no later than 8 weeks from the start of the holiday.

About the owner
Hello! We are Christine, Jonathan and Natalie Robinson and we are the proud owners of Casa de Fortuna, our villa in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote. I am a Practice Manager for a firm of surveyors, my wife teaches piano lessons at a local preparatory school and our daughter is at Southampton University studying Physiotheraphy. We decided to buy our villa because we fell in love with the island whilst on holiday there and realised that it was the perfect place to go to relax and unwind and to escape from the cold, English winter months. There is, of course, guaranteed sunshine in Lanzarote all year round and we love it!

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We chose to buy a villa in Playa Blanca because we feel that this is the most beautiful and peaceful part of the island. The scenery is stunning with breath-taking views of the volcanic mountains, the rugged coastline and the nearby beautiful beaches of Playa Flamingo and Playa Dorada. You can also reach the famous Papagayo beaches in just 20 minutes. Casa de Fortuna is only a 30 minute drive from the airport at Arrecife, which is ideal and the town of Playa Blanca and the Marina Rubicon, with their many fine restaurants and shops, are only a 5 minute drive from the villa. All in all, it is a quiet, unspoilt and well planned centre for relaxing and seeing the rest of the island.
Unique benefits of the property
Casa de Fortuna is a detached and spacious luxury villa. Being on a corner plot, it benefits from having more land and thus a beautiful, established, landscaped garden. We have furnished and maintain the villa and private heated pool to a very high standard with the help of our excellent Villa Manager, Emma-Jane and her husband who designed and looks after the garden and our Pool Manager, Stewart who cleans and maintains the pool. The villa also benefits from charming shutters with integral mosquito nets to guarantee a peaceful and cool night's sleep! We have tried to add those extra little things to our villa so that it becomes a home for our guests rather than just a holiday rental. We feel that we have achieved this but please 'come and stay' and see for yourself!
