A smart, spacious 1-bedroom apartment in the lovely Mare Verde resort complex. This is a very convenient location - shops, restaurants are only a few hundred metres away and it's just a 5-minute walk to the beach. The apartment itself is superbly positioned. The living room opens out onto a large south-facing balcony and the view from here has got to be the best in the whole complex. The balcony enjoys sunshine from mid morning until late evening and because this is an upper (1st floor) apartment, it also gets a nice breeze. An ideal spot for sunbathing or just chilling out.

Towels and linen are provided and the apartment is cleaned on a weekly basis. |
Notes on accommodation
The apartment has satellite TV, offering four British TV channels - BBC1, BBC2, ITV and Channel 4. There is also a DVD player and some assorted DVDs. If you want to bring your laptop, there is now a wireless broadband facility available at the Mare Verde community office at a very reasonable rate.
Outside
Mare Verde is set in the distinctive style of an Andalucian village. There are six(!!) swimming pools that are linked by a series of bridges and mini waterfalls to create a "waterway" running through the middle of the complex. There's a nice pool bar and there's also the Oasis bar, which serves a good choice of meals at reasonable prices.
Coast/Beach
The beach at Playa Fanabe is just a 5-minute walk. A tiled walkway runs along the beachfront, following the coast from Los Cristianos all the way to Caleta. This has always been a very popular stroll at all times of the year, and the recently completed section along Costa Adeje is really spectacular.
Golf
For the golf enthusiast, there are five courses within easy travelling distance:
Las Americas (2 miles)
Los Palos (4 miles)
Costa Adeje (5 miles)
Golf del Sur (10 miles)
Amarilla Golf (10 miles)
Unlike mainland Spain or Portugal, Tenerife is a truly year-round resort and golf is generally a shorts 'n' shirt game even from December to March.
Travel
Tenerife South airport is about 20-minutes away and the taxi fare is €20-25. With shops, restaurants etc being so close at hand here, you probably won't need a car but if you want to explore the island (and yes, there's plenty to see!) rental rates are quite reasonable e.g. €120/week for a Ford KA or Punto. There are plenty of organised trips too. You may want to see the lanscape of Mt. Teide, enjoy a boat trip along the coast to Los Gigantes or take a ferry over to the island of La Gomera.
