Tranquility. If you love the sun and the sea of Las Americas but loathe the noise and bustle then Altamira is the place for you. There is a much greater feeling of open space and peace at this end of Las Americas. Altamira is right on the seafront with a beach one minute away and the promenade is quiet - no jostling, pavement shops or timeshare touts. For the keen, the promenade walk can be enjoyed all the way to Los Cristianos on the opposite side of Las Americas. A few minutes walk in the other direction takes you to the 'viewpoint' near the fishing village of La Caleta - a wonderful panoramic view from here especially at sunset. Sunbathing areas set amongst exotic plants, some of these areas are relatively private. 24 hour reception and safe deposit boxes. Sheltered beach with good selection of water sports available - jet skis, canoes and pedaloes. Golf course 2km away.

Good sized private balcony immediately above and overlooking the swimming pools. There are three outdoor pools, one of which is heated in winter, so you'll love this for winter visits. Sea views to La Gomera. Sunbathing areas set amongst exotic plants, some of these areas are relatively private. Poolside bar available for snacks and drinks.

Coast/Beach

Travel
Reina Sofia airport 15 mins by taxi. Availability of taxis at the airport and hotel is excellent. At the hotel just ask reception to call one from the taxi rank 100 metres away.

Distances

About the owner
Ex-university lecturer and researcher. Working for myself offered the prospect of a better lifestyle. So, ran holiday apartments in the UK (Torbay) for a number of years, then decided it was time for a change to sunnier and more predictable climes. Hence Tenerife.

Year purchased: 1990

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
Bought this apartment off-plan and chose it purely for it's location. A very peaceful area by Tenerife standards and it was the last apartment complex allowed to be built on the seafront - later regulations required buildings to be 100m minimum away from the front. The only mistake I made was not buying another! Despite many 4 and 5-star hotels being built nearby this is still a fabulous location with lots of open space between the hotels because they all have extensive grounds.

Unique benefits of the property
Sea views from balcony. Air-conditioning. A real opportunity to have a relaxing holiday. Great location for family holidays.
