Situated in the new residential park of La Goleta, Casa Lucia boasts its own heated swimming pool and very private roof terrace. The pool has a salt water chlorinator. For those of you to whom this means nothing, the pool water is kept clean by the natural chlorine in salt, and not by a collection of chemicals. This system also renders the pool water less liable to algae infection whilst the taste of the water is unaffected except in so far as it does not have the chlorinated taste which you may have experienced in your local municipal, school or hotel pool. La Goleta has also the benefit of a communal pool if any of your family wish to meet others on holiday. The family friendly resort of Playa Blanca is a mere 5 minute drive away, and has an abundance of excellent restaurants and shops, and very few noisy night clubs.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds and are based on 2 persons and are, on average, beween £100 and £200 cheaper per week than exactly the same villa offered by one of the big villa companies. Discounts will be given for stays over 2 weeks, and long winter lets, and also should your enquiry be for a last minute booking within two weeks of the required dates. The additional charge may sometimes not apply for all children. Do ask at the time of booking.

Thursday is the usual changeover day for British flights, but this can be flexible, according to your requirements.

Outside
Outside there is a landscaped garden area which uses the black and red decorative picon. Picon is fine Lanzarote lava but is very injurious to marble floors and small knees, so young children should be kept on the patio areas and there are stepping stones to gain access to the hosepipe fittings, and to get to the rear of the house. The swimming pool is heated when required, and has a solar cover which keeps the temperature up during the summer months. A particular feature of Casa Lucia is the roof terrace from which there are excellent views of the local volcano and Fuerteventura, and is a particularily private area. There are very few villas in the area with this facility. The outside dining area is an excellent place for everyday eating of all meals, or the occasional barbecue. It is a covered area, and has a large marble table, and we have found that, only during some of the cool days in the winter months is it unsuitable for use.
Coast/Beach
It is about one kilometer to the nearest part of the coast which is not beach, but there is a superbly paved promenade going all the way, past Flamingo Beach into Playa Blanca itself, and then Playa Blanca beach, and, eventually, the new marina. Ideal for excercise, whether it by by bike or Shank's pony. Further on, beyond Playa Blanca, are the superb beaches of Papaguya, which are considered by some to be the beat in Spain, and some of there more remote beaches are naturist.
Golf
The is a golf course at Costa Teguise which is about a 40 minute drive away, but work has now started on Playa Blanca Golf Course, which will be a three minute drive from the villa to the clubhouse when it is complete.
Travel
Arrecife airport is some 30 minutes drive away, and the Port of Playa Blanca, for ferries to Fueteventura, a 15 minute fast ferry ride away, is only a five minute drive. Car hire is essential as there is, as yet, limited public transport to La Goleta.
Distances
Playa Blanca, 5 kilometers Yaiza, 20 kilometers Arrecife, 35 kilometers Timafaya Volcano, 30 kilometers All other parts of the island are within a pleasant morning's drive.

Booking notes
To make an enquiry for a booking, telephone us, or send an e-mail. We check e-mail every day unless we are away ourselves. To make a reservation we require a non returnable booking deposit of £25 per week. Two months before the required dates, we ask for the half the balance of the total charge, less the initial deposit, and one month before you are due to arrive, we require the balance in full.
