Casa Aviva is an architect designed, detached, three bedroom, two storey luxury villa for up to 5 persons. Purpose built and completed in 2003. It is situated in the quiet Canarian village of Lajares (famous historically for lace making) whose facilities include a new small supermarket, French bakery, delicatessen, newsagent, ironmonger, pharmacy, hairdresser and surf shop (with internet cafe), in addition there are a number of good eateries. The villa stands in a plot of approximately 2000 square metres at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. The lush and colourful gardens – including an orchard with fig, cherr, peach, lemon and mango trees, plus vines – are a feature of the property. As well as the solar heated 8 x 4 metre swimming pool, complete with cover, there is extensive tiled terracing at 1st floor level, around the pool and the villa itself.

Changeover day
Change-over day is on Wednesday, unless otherwise mutually agreed. The villa is available from 1600 hours on the day of arrival, and should be vacated by 1000 hours on the day of departure.

| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
The villa is fully cleaned for guests arrival, with towels (other than beach towels) and bedlinen in place. For stays over a week towels/linen are changed weekly, when a limited clean is also carried out. |

Notes on accommodation
All bedrooms have bedside tables and lights, built-in wardrobes, and ceiling fans. For families with young children a travel cot and high chair are available, by prior request. No animals are permitted, and any smoking should take place only in the garden.
Outside
The pool area has two enclosing end walls, loggia and large sun umbrella, and a number of sun loungers plus cushions. Near the villa are shaded and sun exposed areas, two exterior tables with chairs for eating/entertaining, plus a Weber barbecue. The pool is normally cleaned on Mondays and Thursdays, and the gardener visits for about an hour once a week. The driveway in front of the villa is sizable, providing good off-road parking.
Coast/Beach
About 10 minutes drive away to the south of El Cotillo is a extremely long sandy beach, where surfing/windsurfing/kite boarding takes place. Swim with great care to avoid breakers and any undertow. To the north there is an extensive sheltered lagoons area with white sand and crystal clear water, suitable for child and adult swimming. The extensive world renowned sand dunes and Natural Park on the east coast, south of Corralejo, are about a 15/20 minute drive time away.
Travel
Lajares is an easy 38km drive from Fuerteventura Airport. Car hire is not absolutely essential, but is strongly recommended to make the most of the island and your holiday. There are a host of hire car companies on the island, the majority of which have offices in the main airport building. Booking prior to arrival is highly advisable.
Distances
El Cotillo, a small former fishing village on the west (Atlantic) coast, is about 10 minutes drive away. It contains a number of shops, and a large number of eating places. Corralejo, the tourist town on the north of the island, offers all the shops, eating facilities and nightlife that tourists look for. It is also the Port from which various marine related outings can be arranged, and fast ferry catamaran services to/from nearby Lanzarote can be taken advantage of.

Booking notes
Any child under 2 at time of outbound travel is free. There is no seasonal/half term loading. Payment is by cheque. A non-returnable deposit of 25% is required on booking, with the balance due no less than 8 weeks prior to the booked arrival date.
